I test drove a vehicle on friday about 3:30 gave a deposited of $250. to hold for purchase of $5000. only if my machanic stated the vehicle is ok. I was told by alex the owner, my machanic would have to come to the shop to look at the vehicle because he would have to send someone of his guys with me.I was handed a blank sheet of paper with my address on it and was told to sign it. I received the paper back with my deposited reciept of 250.00 covering were christine has stamp paid and wrote the deposit amt. I ask christine what time they close she stated 5:00 it about 4:30. Alex stated the wiper arm for back window will come in next week and I can come and have it put on. I called monday morning 9:40 am spoke with alex, told him my husband was only giving me $3300. so I would have to come get my deposited back, he stated the part had came in. I stated, I still would have had to have my mechanic look at the car. I said I will be in tue morning before is go to work to pick up my deposit, alex said christine handle that need to come in the evening, ask alex to let christine know I'll be in on wed when I get off. Went in on Tue to get my deposit was handed a check for $200. asked where is the $50. I was told it was for canceling, christine stated it did not print dark on my receipt. I stated if I knew their was a fee I would have not sign anything. why would you give someone a blank paper to sign if you were not doing something illegal. I ask alex if he was going to give me my $50. back he stated it was for paperwork, the deposit reciept I received was the paperwork and for his guy working on the vehicle.
