Add contact information for A & J Roofing
I called A&J Roofing due to some leakage in my roof. He came to look at the roof. The house roof
was leaking on the north-side and the south-side near the chimney. This leakage damaged the dining
room ceiling. He did some calking near the chimney, but stated that leak near the chimney was a
mason's job and not his issue.
See Proposal #4. He did not supervise the job. How did he determine the chimney re-flashing was
not needed? He never went up on the roof during the installation or when completed. From the attic I
can see a hole where the roof meets the chimney. There are also other problems; 1) Shingles buckling
above the front porch where the roof meets the house. 2) Dormer siding is buckling where it touches
the roof. He noticed it, looked at it but said nothing about what caused it to me. 3) Metal drip ledges
do not meet in three places. This was ignored. 4) Shingles on the garage corner edge is lifted from the
drip edge. Water accumulates at this corner and a steady stream falls on the walkway. 5) Some other
shingles on the north-side where I had a leak does not look right also. Will this be more trouble in the
future? It was not until the leaks that I really noticed the workmanship. See Proposal # 7.
Being a Revdex.com A+ contractor, I trusted that I would get a professional job with years of trouble free
maintenance.
I talked with two contractors and both agreed that the chimney re-flashing should have been done at
the time the roof was done. Neither contractor would re-flash the chimney unless I contracted for a
new roof. I called A&J Roofing again. and my phone calls have been ignored.
If this is not fixed correctly, soon there will be considerable damage to the inside of my house. Can
you please help me?
Using a calking gun to fix the problems is not the solution I was looking for or expected. I need a
professional person to evaluate the entire roofing job and tell me what needs to be done to insure years
of trouble free usage.
Sincerely,
