[redacted], owner of AJ Ventures, did a tear-off and re-roof of my home in June and July of 2013. I began noticing wet spots on the ceiling in my downstairs bathroom shortly after the job was done, so I assumed I had a leak from the upstairs bathroom directly above the downstairs bathroom. I replaced the wax ring on the toilet thinking that might be the problem, but I noticed there was no wetness when I removed the toilet. Within a few days, the ceiling of the lower bathroom partially gave way due to the water damage, which I again thought was due to a plumbing leak. A plumber came and had to rip out more of the ceiling than what had already collapsed, and upon inspection said the problem wasn't plumbing, but somehow water was entering through the roof which was just replaced. The cost of the visit was $160.[redacted] came out numerous times to troubleshoot, but the leaking continued, causing further damage after each rainfall. He even used roofing tar on a new roof in hopes of stopping the leaks, indicating he wasn't sure what the problem was. I was forced hire a roofing contractor who determined what the problem was. After getting the estimate from the roofer, two calls were placed to [redacted] to discuss the situation and see if he could accomplish what the roofer said needed to be done to rectify the problem, but I never heard back from him. The cost of this repair from the new roofer was $1650.Four months later, I still have a hole in my bathroom ceiling. The repair has been done for about a month now, but I had to give time for all the water damage to dry, and I am now getting estimates for the drywall work to fix the ceiling. It appears the whole ceiling needs replacement due to it being a textured ceiling and a patch-job is unlikely to work.
