Review: In march of 2014 I hired attorney A.L. Collins to handle the estate of my mother" [redacted]. I payed him a fee of $2800.00 and named him executor of estate. He said I had three options. Me be executor and have all the responsibilitys, walk away and leave to state or hire him and name him executor so things would be handled properly and I would not be held responsibly. So I hired him so things would be handled properly. My mother had a life policy on me. The insurance said I could keep policy, transfer policy or cash out policy. I gave this info to A.L. Collins and told him my choice would be to cash out. On 1/06/15 I received a check from [redacted]'s estate (my mother)for $2347.69. This was the cash out that was sent to my moms estate. Collins Law Firm reissued this money to me from estate. I cashed it and went on. No more contact with Collins Law Firm till first of August 2015. His office said I need to come in right away to sign some papers. When I went in there were no papers they just wanted to tell me I owed the money back. My reply was this is your mistake, this is why I hired you so things would be handled properly. I'm no estate attorney. Plus this was eight months later I did not have money anymore. He said this was not his mistake, well he distributed the money. Not me he is the executor I did not have the authority to. So he said he would see what he could do. Fist of September he called me in again saying he was going to have the money. I once again said I do not have it and this was his mistake. On October 23 I received letter from A.L. Collins requesting this money once again. I firmly believe this is his mistake of misusing the funds and he is the named executor. I hired him so things like this would not happen.Desired Settlement: A.L. Collins Law Firm should pay for their own mistakes. I can not recommend this firm to anyone.
