Review: I hired A and L design Services on april *, 2013 to do repairs in my home due to Hurricane Sandy. I signed a contract with the owner [redacted] and gave him a cash deposit. He has shown up 2 days a week at the most. I have tried to call him and text him to see why he is not showing up to work and my calls and texts are not returned. He left me without a toilet and sink for 2 months until I called and basically begged him.(i was getting embarrassed asking neighbors to use their bathroom/shower after such a long period of time) He showed up the next day for an hr and installed a temp sink n toilet. He will no longer return any of my or my wife's texts. I would like to have my wife and daughter back living with me asap but due to his unprofessionalism they aren't able to be living in their homeDesired Settlement: I would like him to refund my deposit and let me hire another contractor to finish the job he never started. and I would like him to be given a negative rating/fine so he would think twice about being so heartless to someone else who's in a vulnerable position as my family and I were thank you,[redacted]

Review: Leonard L[redacted], the owner of A & L Design Services, was hired to provide mason work on the front f my house on July *, 2015. As of August [redacted] the work was not completed. He hired illegal workers to perform the work and he failed to supervise them. As result, my steps need to be demolished because they were built too high. My columns, caps, steps,and other brick and stone work were poorly done. I have to hire another contractor to redo my steps and all work that his illegal workers rendered unsupervised. He never completed any of the work on the job as he was hired to do. He did not perform the work, leaving his unskilled workers to do the job.

I paid him $2700 as a down payment. I then bought my materials. As a result of his poor job, I will have to purchase more material and pay someone else to redo the work. I lost $3000 in material. He currently owes me $5700.Desired Settlement: I will like Mr. L[redacted] to return $4500 ($2700 for my down payment for failure to provide the services discussed and ($1800 for in appropriately using my material).
