Paid for two bathrooms to be completed. Issues with the installation of tiles in one bathroom and a leaky shower in the other. Investigated the moisture in the wall and found this contractor used cardboard behind the dry wall to shim the corner. The contractor was paid to frame the area where the shower was to be installed When we asked the contractor he denied the use of cardboard but he was the only person from his company to work on the project other then a plumber. It comes down to sloppy work and trying to hide his mistakes.
The contractor was asked previously about the leak shower and all he did was add more silicone.
When we pulled the shower apart we also found that during the installation of the shower the pan was cracked from the hole for a screw to attached to the wall. The hole was not pre drilled and the screw appeared to be forced through and cracked the shower pan. Instead of notifying us of this he hide it with a lot of silicone.
I do not recall an issue with tiles, I do recall an issue with the silicone along the tub. When you called I promptly came out and upon further investigation we discovered that the cure time for the siliconized grout was 7 days and not the 1 day that regular silicone is. I repaired the silicone/grout and never heard anything from you afterwards.
When we first spoke about the leaky shower I came out and repaired the suspected area.
At that time I said that if this doesn't work I will have to pull it apart and re-do it. you then called me 2 years later (past my warranty period) with the same issue. I came out to discuss this issue and repeated that I am willing to pull it apart and re-do everything. At that time your home was up for sale *** and you told me that if it is sold it will be torn down so you will let me know by early 2019 if I need to do anything else. If this was such a problem why did you wait until July to contact me when I told you twice that I was willing to come out on my own dime to resolve this issue? The silicone used to seal between the shower walls and base was not to hide anything, but was placed there as per the installation instructions of your shower unit.
We have just had our two bathrooms redone from top to bottom and we
were very satisfied with the workmanship and good attitude of Greg ***.The job was done on time and on budget and was by far the best experience we have had with any contractor.We would definitely use him again.
