One would expect that all parts of a NEW home would be newly manufactured....not 2-years oldWhile both units, were NEW, both were manufactured at least years previouslyThis is similar to buying a new vehicle and then discovering that the engine was made in 2011! One of the units is discontinued
I attempted to work with the company, but they tell me that they can do nothing unless the manufacturer (***) tells them to replace it*** tells me that once the product is sold to a dealer, the only issues they deal with are those involving warranties
I feel that this company should have told me or my contractor the manufacture date of the unit, which I would have refused to approveSince they told neither me nor my builder, we had no say in the matterI think it is somewhat fraudulent to put a 4-year-old unit in a NEW home; at best, it is certainly questionable business ethic
It is shameful that the company has refused to deal with this problemI would certainly encourage others to select a more honest company for HVAC needs, or at least make sure that older-manufactured units are not passed off to them as new models
