A Mamaux & Son Inc Reviews (6)
Review: they install our canvus awning up everyyear but customer relations with them is hard to get , sometimes you try to get it inatalled buy a date in april but there answer is were not ready yet , so when you call you may not get somebody to answer and amessage asking you to leave your number and lately its bee we will install week of may 2 and if you call to ask when the answer is maybe fri day or Saturday the people in our plan [[redacted]] have called and its always not acertain dateDesired Settlement: I would like a definitive install date.
The Association at [redacted] schedules installation and removal of the awnings. They had chose the WEEK of May 2nd through the 6th for installation, not the day of. That is not in our control so that is something the home owner will have to take up with their association. Several customers from [redacted] were told this, including Mr. [redacted]. The awnings were finally erected on May 10th a little late due to inclement weather. Being that [redacted] home owners have been with our company for a number of years, they know we get behind due to heavy rain and winds, this year being no exception. As far as the telephone goes, I have 4 lines to answer and I am one person. If I am on a line and another rings, that call will go to voicemail. I try to call everyone back but sometimes because we are extremely busy this time of year, I am unable to do so. I did speak to Mr and Mrs [redacted] twice so I'm not sure why there is confusion.Thank you,A.Mamaux and Son
Review: I had A. Mamaux & Son, Inc take down my awning at the end of summer, store them over winter and put them back up at spring. That's when the problem accured. they installed my awnings and did not do a good job, all the bolts and sewers came out of the rods and with the spring wind storms the rods scraped up my window frames pretty bad so I call A. Mamaux & Sons because my husband had to go and purchase awning clips and redo the install on all of the awnings and we needed to know who was going to pay for the repair of our windows. To this day the owner has yet to return any of my calls and for the past two weeks I have been calling to speak with the billing person about this invoice they sent me for $192.60 stating that I need to pay or be sent for collections. I do not feel that I owe any monies for this service of install due to me having to pay for repairs and products for this install. I did pay in full for the winter store and removal of my awning.Desired Settlement: Drop of all charges.
A. Mamaux and Son, Inc. was unaware of any of this. We were going through the list of customers that still owed us money and the [redacted]'s were one so we sent the invoice. I have no record of a complaint from them with the install in Spring 2014. They have 8 awnings in total and if we were notified of an error installation of that many awnings, we would surely have taken care of it. I have received no phone calls or messages via voicemail from this customer, so I'm not sure what they are referring to. We performed the service of hanging 8 awnings and we should be paid. We were never given the chance to correct an issue we did not know about. We also repaired this customer's awning braid free of charge. I cannot assume our installation was at fault when a customer states there was wind damage. We are not liable for damage caused by wind damage. Thank you,A.Mamaux and Son
Review: I contacted Mamaux in Oct of 2013 to have my awning repaired over the winter. The awning is 2 years old with a 10 yr. warranty. The corners both have holes in it. They were to do the repair and return the awning when complete. I called Mamaux in April of 2014 to see when my awning would be installed. They came a week later and only repaired one of the corners.I called back at the least 10 times and asked for someone to please return my call. As of today I have heard from no one. The repair job is terrible. They just placed a patch over the corner seam on the outside. It could of at the least been patched on the inside of the awning insteadof an unslightly patch on the outside corner. I have asked for my salesman to come out to my house to look at there repair and of course I have not heard from him either. I would appreciate anything you could do for me since this awning was only purchased in the summer of 2011. I realize I leave my awning up all year but when I purchased the first awning I purchased heavy duty pipes. This is my third awning from Mamaux in the past 18 years and have never had this problem with the first two awnings.Desired Settlement: I would like my awning repaired in a way that is acceptable or replaced.I would also like my salesman to come to my house and look at the repair job.thank you
Review: The following items were not returned for the summer season. (1)Two upper bedroom window awnings. (2) One large front porch awning. Said items were to be cleaned & stored, then later installed on April 25, 2014. Numerous calls were made for scheduled delivery & installation but no services were ever rendered despite their promises. All services were paid for in advance per company guide lines. $458.00 for removal, cleaning, storage & installation for the year. No communication has been made since August 21, 2014, which was the last time they were scheduled to return the awnings.Desired Settlement: Settlement in the amount of $2,658.00 should be refunded to the owner.
I am writing to address complaint made by [redacted]. A. Mamaux and Son does the erection, storage and removal of Mrs. [redacted]'s awning at [redacted] Every year Mrs. [redacted] schedules either the erection or removal and when our employees go there, the pipes that are needed to do the work are not available for them and we have to go back to the customer's house up to 3 or 4 times to complete the work. We call Mrs. [redacted] the day before to notify her that we are coming and yet every time we come, the pipes are not there. We do not require payment in advance, we send an invoice after the work is done. So therefore, Mrs. [redacted] has a zero balance on her account. To resolve this matter, A.Mamaux and Son will drop off 3 awnings that Mrs. [redacted] has here stored in our warehouse.
Review: Claims repairs were done when they clearly were not. Called multiple times with no response. Charged me for the repairs. Either want repairs done or money refunded.Desired Settlement: Either do the repairs or refund my money.
I would like to apologize first and foremost for the delay in response to the complaint, #[redacted] made by [redacted]. The events that led up to this complaint are as follows: A. Mamaux and Son, Inc notified Mr. [redacted] in the Fall of 2012 of repairs needed to erect the awning in Spring of 2013. The repairs were a total resew and patch. We also notified Mr. [redacted] that the awning was in bad condition and the repairs may not be adequate in effectively erecting the awning. The cost for the repairs was to be $220.00 + tax. Mr. [redacted] agreed and the repairs were completed in January 2013.
We did receive phone calls from Mr. [redacted] about his concerns. On two separate occasions, we sent a crew out to check the awning. On the second visit, our employee stated the repairs were visible and there was one tear about 3-4 inches long. It could've been something we had missed or could have occurred after the awning was erected in the Spring. Mr. [redacted] was not home at the time and our employee talked to Mr. [redacted]'s son who also tried to call Mr. [redacted] but he was unable to be reached.
At this point, A. Mamaux and Son, Inc will agree to reimburse Mr. [redacted] the money for his repairs, minus what he owes us for the installation of the awning. An invoice is enclosed as well. We also are not willing to do anymore repairs to Mr. [redacted]'s awning because of the age and deterioration of the awning. We have already repaired this awning in January 2013. We have sent the same response to Mr. [redacted].
Thank you for your time and patience.
