of A Master's Touch landscaping came to our home and signed a contract with us to do landscaping in our back yard. The contract states that *** will complete the work within one week of signing (November 7), weather permitting. Friday and Saturday, November 16 and 17, the temperatures were in the 60's. *** declined to complete the work on those days and has not performed any other work that would satisfy performance of the contract. He was given money up front and has at most completed work that would amount to 1/6 of what he was given. I have contacted *** and offered a remedy to the dispute, to which he agreed. As yet he has done nothing toward satisfying the remedy he agreed to.

We contacted Mr. F. after seeing his ad in NWA news. We had a variety of landscaping issues we needed fixed including french drains. He was polite and friendly almost overly friendly. The next day he gave us a bid on the work. It was close to $20,000. He assured us of his experience and promised to finish in a timely manner. He came the first day and finished nothing. We called when he did not return the next day and no answer on his phone and no voicemail. This went on for over a week and our son called from his phone. Mr. F. promptly answered. When he heard who it was and why he was being contacted he hung up and blocked the number. We are out the money with not one of the jobs finished. We contacted a attorney who has informed us he defrauded us and many others. Through this attorney we found out he left Bella Vista stiffing his landlord and is now doing Landscaping under A Master's Touch- Phone number ***. Advertising again out of NWA news. His phone is listed under John M. now and he has no address. Someone needs to stop his illegal activity. Law Enforcement has done absolutely nothing about this phony landscaper and that allows him to steal thousands more!

We hired John F. to install 2 French drains. We agreed to a price of $2,500. We were gone when he came to do the work (from 3:00 pm to about 7:30 pm). When we arrived home we noticed a lot of the work was done. He came by a day later to finish, that took about an hour. What we were not aware of is the French drains were barely below the surface, (about 2-3 inches). Once we discovered that , I called him and expressed my dissatisfaction, and he said he'd stop by and check it out. A week went by and still no John F. I called again, and he said he would stop by later that day, about 5:00 pm still no John F., so I called again and he said he would be by. At 8:00 pm I called again, no answer on the phone. I called again the next morning at about 8:00 am, and as soon as I told him who I was, he hung up, and blocked my number, so I can no longer reach him. I also tried on two other phones with different numbers, and as soon as I told him who I was he hung up and blocked the numbers on both of those phones as well. If there was any way to rate this kind of action with a negative number, that what he'd be rated at. For $2,500.00 and about 4-5 hours of this kind of work, it's absolutely disgusting, especially when you can't even talk with him to try and resolve the shoddy workmanship.
Since the above took place (all during April 2018) I have contacted another contractor, and he recommended the way they should have been installed. Which was pretty much the way I expected John F. to install them. When you Google "French drains" you have a pretty good idea of what to expect. Anyway if you hire this guy, GOOD LUCK.

We hired John F. doing business as Above the Rest Landscaping to replace parts of our rock landscaping that had been washed away over the years by rain and erosion, and to otherwise make our front and back yards more attractive. John assured us that he would do a nice job and correct the water erosion problem and gave us a written estimate which we accepted. He and a crew of four showed up the next day and got to work immediately. After a week he was nearly done saying that he would complete the final job of refurbishing our front entryway and adding more gravel when he could obtain another load but would have to wait as his source was out of that particular type of gravel. We gave him a check for the full amount of the job trusting he would finish the next week. Over the week-end we had a very heavy rain storm which washed away a considerable amount of the new gravel. Obviously he failed to fix the water erosion problem. I emailed him to tell him we had a problem and he replied that he would come by to see and correct the problem. We don't know if he ever came by, but he has not responded to any emails and he is not taking any phone calls. This has now been a month and we cannot get in touch with him. We drove by his residence and learned from a neighbor that he is in town and we are not the only ones looking for him. Apparently he has just abandoned the job once he got paid. We rate him as very unprofessional even though he does put up a good appearance.
