A Matter of Face

I purchased a prepaid voucher for a 3 hour makeup party at A Matter of Face from BuyWithMe, a third party. Since that purchase I have attempted to call a Matter of Face to schedule the event for months, and they would never pick up the phone or when they did, upon hearing I purchased the event through a third party, they would tell me they had no openings for months away. When I finally did get to schedule an event, I scheduled the makeup party for 1/16. On 1/13 the establishment called and cancelled the party and said they would need to reschedule without citing a reason. We rescheduled for today, 1/22, and I confirmed the date with them via email (I can provide this). Today, they left me a voicemail during business hours asking me to confirm again. They called again at 3pm (same day), I answered, and they told me since I hadnt confirmed earlier in the day, they cancelled the event and I should ask the third party for a refund. This practice is completely unprofessional. If they require clients to verbally confirm (in addition to email confirmations), they need to give a longer period of time than an hour or two, especially if the timespan is during business hours when people cannot take personal calls throughout the day. The business has seemed very sketchy from the start, and has now cancelled and asked me to reschedule twice. It is my opinion that they pocket the money from the third party up front and then refuse service to the third party customers. I have already filed a complaint with Gilt (Buywithme) the third party as well.
