A. McVay's "Honey Do" Handyman Remodeling and Painting Reviews (1)
I have paid Mr. McVay thousands of dollars within the last two years in multiple projects. It has not always been a smooth experience but the last large project of $1800 was left with items undone since June. Other past projects also have items left undone. Mr. McVay has emailed me that he puts his difficult customers at the bottom of the list. He also states he mis-judged the workability of a lock & latch I bought for the bathroom door. He took it to a blacksmith, then after that, he looked at the door and said it would not work, so I told him I am deducting the latch from him what I owe him. His answer was that he was too busy on his 300,000 projects to give my latch the proper consideration but, yet, does not want to pay it. Mr. McVay recently went to my vacation house, in Spruce Pine, NC to finish up a newer project for which he wanted to be paid upon completion. He apparently lost the deadbolt to one of the doors so it is not technically completed, but I am ordering a new part. I told him I waited long enough for the other residuals to be completed so I am holding the $655 I owe, which is minus the latch until he completes the other issues which I find comparable in price. For some reason, he does not want to do this which puts his good faith in serious question.
