A Miller's Taxidermy Reviews (3)

I feel my money should be returned. I have heard many complaints from friends and relatives asking who did the job because it either looks like it shouldve been made at bottles and brushes or that a 4 year old could have done a better job or the most popular is that it looks like a plastic talking fish you would buy at [redacted]. This is not what I wouldve expected from a supposed professional. Especially for the money that was spent.  I wouldn't have even paid $100 if I knew it was going to look as bad as it does. We have already taken our awful ugly piece that Mr M[redacted] made and the original picture of fish to a different local taxidermy to get advice and prices to create a new one. Its pretty sad when two other professionals in the same business claim it is one of the worst pieces they have ever seen.
Very disappointed.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
There are many hairline cracks still in paint. Mouth is terrible looking and its missing a fin. Not that it matters bit 3 holes wrongly drilled in wood. My son is a student at The [redacted] in South Carolina. He was only allowed hime home at christmas and spring break this was to be a Christmas gift for him. Fish was not done by Christmas so yes he picked it up while home on spring break. He was so mad when he picked it up and had dinner guests waiting in car so I would not allow him to go in and argue then we filed complaint. Felt no need to contact him directly especially given the many excuses I was given to why fish wasnt ready when supposed to be.

To Whom It May Concern:I am writing a response to complaint number [redacted] that was filed against my business on 3/26/15. I feel no corrective action on my part is warranted for this complaint and will state my reasoning's why.
I entered into an oral agreement with...

the customer on May 20th, 2014 for taxidermy services for one Palomino Trout. The customer requested a reproduction of the fish mounted on a small piece of driftwood. I informed the customer that the price of the fish was $250.00 and the price of the driftwood was $20.00, for a grand total of $270.00 to which the customer agreed. No guarantees were ever given to the customer of an exact time frame due to the artistic nature of the work involved with taxidermy.Work on the fish began normally and everything went well with the prep work. After a conversation with the customer in the beginning of December I was under the impression that she was expecting completion of services by Christmas, so I increased labor time and delayed other work orders to fulfil her request. I delivered her fish to another taxidermist who I contract out for any paint work that needs to be done. This individual has over 25 years in the industry. There was an issue with the epoxy however, and he could not paint properly and hairline cracks could be seen. I only produce a high quality product, so part of the prep work had to be redone and another paint session scheduled with the taxidermist. After the second and successful attempt at the paint job, the customer was called that day and told her order was ready for pickup. It took almost two months for the customer to come and pick up her fish and to make a final payment. No complaint was ever made on the day of the pick up or any time after. At no time was any communication ever made to me that there was any dissatisfaction. I feel that she got a good quality product at a fair price and that is why I feel that no corrective action is needed on my part. I have enclosed a photo of the actual fish serviced for customer and also have enclosed a photo of comparable work for that species of fish in the industry.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,Alan M
