DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY
While in a mental health crisis, I was lured to this facility under false pretenses. Due to the nature of my trauma I expressed I could ONLY work with female clinicians and I was promised via phone call, text, and official documents from the facility that I would only have a female doctor. This was a bold face lie.
When I arrived, I was told I would be meeting with Dr. Geoffrey Phillips via video chat and that I could not meet with a female doctor or have a female clinician present. I had an extreme panic attack. Dr. Phillips refused treatment unless I "apologized for my behavior." A psychiatrist demanding an apology from a patient who had a panic attack is INSANE, cruel, and unprofessional. Furthermore, Dr. Phillips immediately signed discharge papers and alerted all staff to withhold any and all medication from me - medication that I desperately needed. Clinical director Jacqueline “Jacque” Hoagland enabled Dr. Phillips appalling behavior.
Furthermore, upon my arrival I was forced to sign contracts under duress and was not allowed to read them prior to signing (directly pressured by admissions coordinator Nathanial Montoya and indirectly by Dan Robinson - Lead Program Director and personal friend of Dr. Phillips).
An employee from A Mission for Michael who was witness to some of the events filed a complaint as a mandated reporter. She was asked to attend with Dan Robinson (AMFM Program Director), Jason Shipley (a program director), a program manager named Cara, and an HR representative
named Diana Rubi. In this meeting, she was belittled to the point of tears and her job was threatened because she had done the right thing to stand of for her patient. The AMFM culture is toxic and unsafe for any patient and many of the staff members. My short time at this facility cause irreparable harm to my mental health.

Disappointed.
I was a client at AMFM towards the end of 2022 in Orange County, CA. Overall, it was a wonderful treatment center. However, after I had left, I discovered that staff had forgotten to file my disability claim on my behalf, which they had told me was going yo happen because I had no access to a phone or computer during my locked-down stay. They dropped the ball, and it cost me thousands of dollars because of their incompetence and I have tried to reach out and been completely ignored. It’s unbelievable. If you stay here, make sure you remind staff to finish your required paperwork because if you don’t, as I learned, it might not happen at all. I really enjoyed my time here so this was disappointing. I’m now late on bills because of this error. I just would like to be reached out to and apologized to, at the least. It’s incredibly upsetting that this happened.
