I hired this company to move my furniture into my new apartment. I was scheduled a time of 6:30PM and then told that the movers would be a little late. I was updated every 2 hours they were late and so spent the entire day waiting for them. They arrived at my apartment at 11:30PM, 5 hours after the scheduled time, and neither mover apologized for the delay. While moving my items into my apartment, the movers broke a light globe outside, busted a hole into the wall, and ripped my sofa. One mover apologized for the hole in the wall but not for any of the other damage. I heard the movers say that the couch would not fit the way they were trying to make it fit and I watched both of them forcefully shove the couch through the patio door even though it was obviously not going to fit. The driver then told me "It was inevitable". When I complained to a woman named [redacted] the only thing she had to say was that they gave me 10% off my move and that I would not be getting my entire fee back. I then called the office and they sent two men out to look at the damage and make reapirs. They swept up the glass that the two movers left and put the screen door back on track that had originally been knocked off during the move. I was also offered a choice between a couch cover or the company would find someone to reupholster the couch. One of the men came back to fix damages and put a patch kit over the hole in the wall and replaced the broken light globe. He then offered me a throw blanket for the couch and said it was because the company could not find a blue couch cover. I refused and stated I wanted the couch cover I was offered. After patching the wall he stated the company did not know the paint color to the wall and stated my apartments would need to sand and paint the patch and that he would let the woman in the office know I wanted the couch cover. My apartments gave me the name of the paint company which I called and had them mix a small tub for the moving company to pick up and paint my wall with. When I called the office back, the woman told me that she was not aware that anything else would be done in my apartment. She proceeded to tell me she would see about having someone paint over the patch in the wall and that I would not be receiving a couch cover because they were "too expensive". She also stated that the company was paying for repairs out of pocket and they could not spend the money on a couch cover. She stated if I had bought the insurance, the company would have covered the damages. I booked my move over the phone and was never told about or offered insurance for my move. I paid over $200 for my move and the drivers were unprofessional, cussed inside of my home, damaged property with no apologies and did not even make an effort to sweep up the glass that was lying around from what they broke. Both the driver and the woman at the from desk told me the damage was "inevitable" and "accidents happen". I have a hard time understanding how the damage was inevitable when the movers said themselves the sofa needed to be taken out and brought in another way but chose to shove it through instead. I also missed a day of work the following day after the move because I had to be at work in 2 hours and had not slept.
