Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/06/29) */
The customer bought her vehicle from us in February 2015. The vehicle passed safety and emission inspections and no further warranty from us was provided except an agreement to replace the windshield due to a minor crack on the edge. We also...
purchased for her an extended power train warranty plan from the independent company C.A.R.
Recently, the check engine light turned on due to a malfunction of one catalytic converter.
As a good gesture from us, we agreed to have the parts replaced at our cost while the windshield was being replaced, despite the fact that the vehicle had no extended warranty from us.
The mechanic shop said that the customer had driven the vehicle for over 8800 miles on the same oil and the engine oil needed to be flushed and changed to protect the vehicle. The cost for this would be $99.99
We informed her that she must pay for the engine oil issues as we had paid for the promised repair at a cost of $600.00 and had no further obligations towards the vehicle.
We expect that, when any customer buys a vehicle from us, they perform all necessary services and maintenance to protect both of our investments in it.
Mr. [redacted] purchased the 2006 Chevy Monte Carlo from us on a payment plan. He paid $2000.00 and promised to pay the remaining balance in installment of $300.00/month starting March 27th he was given all the documents including the required safety inspection, at the time of sales....
The vehicle was not ready for the emission test due to its computer reset. We asked him to drive the vehicle for few days and bring it back for the test. Later on we checked the vehicle, perform any necessary repairs and had the emission inspection completed. At that time Mr. [redacted] could have registered the vehicle and obtained a legal plate, instead he elected to continue driving using illegally some other vehicle plate ,and without the required insurance (he signed and promised to keep full cover insurance in force all the time), and cause front end suspension damages to the vehicle that made it unsafe to drive. He brought the vehicle to Legends Auto for repair, an estimate was given to him but he refused the repair. The loan company, who own the vehicle was notified and they decided that the vehicle will not leave the shop before its made safe to drive and full cove insurance in effect, for the betterment of both parties.
