I am rejecting this response because:My contract w/ American Home Shield covered the cost of the permit, labor, new furnace, removal and disposal of the old furnace. the duct test looked very suspect. All 8 vents and hall return vent were sealed with masking tape. They after my check hit Johns hand they left so fast they didn't even remove the tape from all the vents. I'm still waiting for papers showing that Duct Test passed and permit to call for inspection to complete job.

The amount that the warranty coverage covers is the cost of the unit. California title 24 law says that with a replacement of any equipment you must perform a duct test and you must seal ducts so that the third party duct tester can pass the test.  The 950 covers the permit fee with the local...

jurisdiction, the cost of the third party that must come and do the test and the labor to properly seal the system so that it actually does pass the test.  What the customer received was a $3800 furnace for the price of a permit and a duct test that passed the first time tested. I believe we have fulfilled for the warranty company exactly what his policy coverage allows for.

Warranty Co assigned AandP to fix AC. AandP sched an appt for after 4:00 june 9. A&P never showed I left a msg with AandP (there was no answer at 5:00) after talking to warranty co june 10 at 11am I was told A&P would call me. At 4 A&P finally called. I was told the tech came to my house around 7pm knocked in the door there was no answer and he was afraid to enter the back yard due to dogs so the tech took pictures and left.. For that tech to knock on my front door they would have to go thru my gate and 4 dogs. I was home and the driveway alarm never went off. I dont have a "backyard" im on 2.5 acres. A&P then said the tech tried to enter gate but it was locked. There is no lock. This tech lied. I requested these alleged pictures to date haven't seen them. I called warranty co and got a different contractor. Would prefer to not deal with a deceitful company

TERRIBLE!

We had our A/C go out on Thursday, we called our home warranty company (American Home Shield) and they scheduled A&P to come look at our unit. A&P scheduled a time for us to meet them at our house: between Noon and 4pm the following Tuesday.

The weekend was especially hot, over 100 degrees each day, and it was not fun without an air conditioner.

Tuesday morning, I get a call at 8:30 stating that A&P would be at my house in 30 minutes!!?! I had to go to great lengths to move my schedule around & be home between Noon and 4pm, now they are showing up at 9am?!? I told them I would be unable to meet them until noon, as we agreed.

They told me they are having some scheduling issues (because an employee was injured) and they would not be able to be there between noon and 4pm. They offered to reschedule for NEXT THURSDAY. I told them that is unacceptable, but they are unwilling to come today. I explained that, when we have an employee out, I have to work overtime to make up for it - they should too. This is ridiculous.

I'm calling American Home Shield and demanding that they no longer use A&P.

Review: These people are the rudest most inconsiderate people I have ever had to deal with in my life. They came out and did not fix my a/c like they were supposed to and then when they were supposed to come back they simply no showed. When I called the woman I spoke to was rude and did not care that I had 3 young children in my home; one of which suffers from respiratory problems exacerbated by the heat and was placed in PICU for 3 weeks! The woman on the phone didn't bother listening to a word I had to say all she wanted to do was point fingers and basically told me to go eff myself. For a company that is supposed to strive for customer satisfaction they really missed the bar. My children have had to endure 111 degree heat! What am I supposed to say to my 4 year old when she looks in my eyes and tells me she is so hot? Am I just supposed to respond like the rude woman from A&P Cooling & Heating and tell her oh well get over it? I'm sorry but I am a human being with 3 little children who do not understand how to just get over the heat. Sorry that my 1 1/2 year old can't breathe and has asthma attacks because the technician can't come out for 4 more days. Sorry son, just get over it.Desired Settlement: I would like my $75 service fee refunded.

Response:

On June 10 Mrs [redacted] was scheduled in the morning for a service call to look at her air conditioner. She was unable to respond to our several phone calls to come out on that date. She did call in that afternoon we tried to reschedule her for same day but she refused service. The 75 dollars she paid was a deductible to her home warranty insurance company.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

I was given an appointment between the hours of 800 am - 1200 and was NEVER told that I was going to get a call and that if I didn't answer no one would come to the scheduled appointment. I never received a missed call and when I called A &P heating the woman I spoke to was rude and treated me like garbage. I told her I had small children at my house and the heat affects my youngest who has respiratory problems but she didn't care. My husband was home waiting for the technician like we were told to. The fee we paid was for the company to come fix a problem with our AC which they never fixed. So we paid for nothing and we should have our money reimbursed.

Review: A & P Heating and Cooling replaced my gas furnace via American Home Shield. A.H.S. covered the cost of the gas furnace, removal and disposal of old unit, permits and installation cost. A & P heating and cooling charged me $950.00 for what they called none covered items. the only thing they did other than removal and installation of the furnace, was the title 24 duct test which was done in all of 15-20 mins.. This also looked suspect, they taped all my air vent w/masking tape & mask taped my hall ceiling return with a black plate w/circular fitting for duct tubing to a box and said the charge for this test was $650.00 and to mask tape my vent was $300.00. this was the only explanation they would give me for the $950.00 charge. I called several time for an explanation and receipt paper work explaining charge. I still can't get anyone to give me a valid explanation for the charge other than than the $650 for the test. The only paper work they left me was a sheet w/ a $3800. estimate for complete new duct replacement and some masking tape left on 2 of my air vents. I thought this was a receipt for the service rendered w/explanation for the charges but when I looked I saw it was just an estimate.Desired Settlement: I feel that they should issue me a refund for $500.00. Also I checked around for title 24 duct test and they range from $300.-$450. What I feel would be fair is a $500. refund
