We sincerely apologize for your disappointment with your experience with A Perfect FitIt is true that we charge a replacement fee after four months, which then varies depending on the timing of the replacement request, however this is clearly outlined in our placement agreement and is sent to
every client prior to moving forward with a nanny searchWe understand that the last thing you want to do is pay another fee when you have to replace your nannyWe have weighed this against the alternatives of either charging a higher placement fee with a free one year replacement, or shortening our refund and replacement policyCoincidentally, had we charged you $as you stated, it would have justified including a free replacement at months, however if you check your records you will see that you paid $for your nanny placement, not $Ultimately we feel that our existing placement and replacement fee schedule is most beneficial for the majority of our clients, since most of our placements meet and often times exceed the one year commitmentWe don't feel it is fair to charge a larger placement fee to cover a replacement that typically does not happen in the first year and although we could modify our policy to only cover a replacement in the first four months, we like to continue with a prorated replacement fee throughout the remaining months to support our goal of a minimum one year commitmentWe strongly encourage all potential clients to thoroughly read through our placement agreement that outlines in detail our fee structure and replacement policy, to ensure they are comfortable with all of our terms prior to moving forward with our agencyWe are always available to address any questions or concerns about our policies and fees, taking into consideration any requested modifications before a placement is made, but without any direct communication we are unable to address those concernsWhen we reminded you of the replacement fee of $prior to sending over any nanny applicants, we did not have a response and once we heard you were moving forward with the nanny we did send a bill for our standard replacement feeAs you mentioned, once you contacted us about the fee, we offered to reduce it to $without any further replacementWe felt this was a fair compromise going beyond what our contract clearly states as our replacement policy, and we apologize if you did not feel it was fair.We realize that your assumption that we delayed your nanny search was likely based off the minimal number of candidates we had for you to considerHowever, we received your family application, scheduled a consult and posted your position all within that first week of you contacting us in JuneIf you recall, we sent you your first candidate to consider the following week, but she was not a good fitIt is very likely that we explained that the nanny world moves fast, because it does, so we still had hope that we would have applicants as your start date drew nearer, however we also communicated with you the challenges of your position and the likelihood that we would have minimal candidates hoping this would prepare you to explore many avenues for nanny coverageWe worked diligently and posted your position consistently for two months until you hired your nannyDuring that time we never asked for our typical up front registration fee, you did not pay any fee until you hired your nanny after her trialWe don't want our clients to be invested financially unless we are sure we will be able to provide them with several qualified candidates to considerWe felt we openly communicated with you about the challenges of your position from the start as well as discussed ways to modify your position to help draw in candidatesWe were under the impression that you were in agreement about a guaranteed minimum amount of hours and the pay scale per your email stating your preference to stay within 20-hours per weekOur purpose for operating this nanny agency is to find families and nannies their 'perfect fit'In those cases where we cannot find this fit, we still want the families to know what their options are, if any come closeHad we felt you were hiring this nanny out of desperation or feeling you were left with no options and forced to make compromises you were not comfortable with, we never would have encouraged the placementWe truly believed that both parties felt it was a great connection and would last even beyond a year. Although this nanny was not our employee, she was still representing us and we expected her to uphold a certain degree of conduct All of the nannies that we refer must have excellent references and previous employer feedback and we expect them to continue performing to those original standardsThe nanny we referred to you was no different, in fact, silly us, we thought it was just a perk that *** knew her personally! Our goal at A Perfect Fit is to ensure both our clients and nannies have a pleasurable experience throughout the entire placement processAlthough as a small business we rely on our placement and replacement fees for services rendered, we also want what is best for the kidsAs we explained to you in our final correspondence, we encouraged the replacement nanny that we referred to you to do what she felt was best for herself and for your children despite our conflictsDespite our contract with her, we have no intention to interfere with a good thing over a disagreement about payment, especially in this situationWe sincerely hope for a positive and long lasting nanny/family relationship for all of you

We sincerely apologize for your disappointment with your experience with A Perfect Fit. It is true that we charge a replacement fee after four months, which then varies depending on the timing of the replacement request, however this is clearly outlined in our placement agreement and is sent to...

every client prior to moving forward with a nanny search. We understand that the last thing you want to do is pay another fee when you have to replace your nanny. We have weighed this against the alternatives of either charging a higher placement fee with a free one year replacement, or shortening our refund and replacement policy. Coincidentally, had we charged you $1900 as you stated, it would have justified including a free replacement at 6 months, however if you check your records you will see that you paid $1350 for your nanny placement, not $1900. Ultimately we feel that our existing placement and replacement fee schedule is most beneficial for the majority of our clients, since most of our placements meet and often times exceed the one year commitment. We don't feel it is fair to charge a larger placement fee to cover a replacement that typically does not happen in the first year and although we could modify our policy to only cover a replacement in the first four months, we like to continue with a prorated replacement fee throughout the remaining months to support our goal of a minimum one year commitment. We strongly encourage all potential clients to thoroughly read through our placement agreement that outlines in detail our fee structure and replacement policy, to ensure they are comfortable with all of our terms prior to moving forward with our agency. We are always available to address any questions or concerns about our policies and fees, taking into consideration any requested modifications before a placement is made, but without any direct communication we are unable to address those concerns. When we reminded you of the replacement fee of $600 prior to sending over any nanny applicants, we did not have a response and once we heard you were moving forward with the nanny we did send a bill for our standard replacement fee. As you mentioned, once you contacted us about the fee, we offered to reduce it to $250 without any further replacement. We felt this was a fair compromise going beyond what our contract clearly states as our replacement policy, and we apologize if you did not feel it was fair.We realize that your assumption that we delayed your nanny search was likely based off the minimal number of candidates we had for you to consider. However, we received your family application, scheduled a consult and posted your position all within that first week of you contacting us in June. If you recall, we sent you your first candidate to consider the following week, but she was not a good fit. It is very likely that we explained that the nanny world moves fast, because it does, so we still had hope that we would have applicants as your start date drew nearer, however we also communicated with you the challenges of your position and the likelihood that we would have minimal candidates hoping this would prepare you to explore many avenues for nanny coverage. We worked diligently and posted your position consistently for two months until you hired your nanny. During that time we never asked for our typical up front registration fee, you did not pay any fee until you hired your nanny after her trial. We don't want our clients to be invested financially unless we are sure we will be able to provide them with several qualified candidates to consider. We felt we openly communicated with you about the challenges of your position from the start as well as discussed ways to modify your position to help draw in candidates. We were under the impression that you were in agreement about a guaranteed minimum amount of hours and the pay scale per your email stating your preference to stay within 20-22 hours per week. Our purpose for operating this nanny agency is to find families and nannies their 'perfect fit'. In those cases where we cannot find this fit, we still want the families to know what their options are, if any come close. Had we felt you were hiring this nanny out of desperation or feeling you were left with no options and forced to make compromises you were not comfortable with, we never would have encouraged the placement. We truly believed that both parties felt it was a great connection and would last even beyond a year. Although this nanny was not our employee, she was still representing us and we expected her to uphold a certain degree of conduct.  All of the nannies that we refer must have excellent references and previous employer feedback and we expect them to continue performing to those original standards. The nanny we referred to you was no different, in fact, silly us, we thought it was just a perk that [redacted] knew her personally! Considering she came with such high qualifications and recommendations, we completely trusted that she would be a top notch care provider for your children. She should have been aware and respectful of your wishes regarding her everyday conduct with the kids. She should have openly communicated with you about her plans before each day and a summary at the end of each day so you were aware of their outings and were able to inform her if you did not approve. We are surprised and saddened that she has had such a negative impact on your family. We are truly sorry that you have had such a disappointing experience with a nanny we referred. As for your replacement nanny, we take full responsibility for overlooking her updated marital status and address. In our rush to get her information over to you as soon as possible, we did not have her fill out a new profile and instead edited her profile from 2 years ago, when she was first placed with a family. We updated her references and job history but completely overlooked those finer details and we are very sorry for our mistake. We also should have explained that the rate on her profile is a base rate, and as with most rates, it can vary based on number of children and schedule. We assumed that she was within your pay range based on the previous nanny placement, but we should have double-checked. This was an err in judgement on our part. We hope that despite those issues, she is still working out for you. We complete preliminary background checks on all of our nannies however it is and always has been our policy to conduct a final background check only once an offer has been extended, and is of course pending the final clearance. This is communicated with potential clients up front and we would only encourage clients to move forward if they are comfortable with these terms. We like to think of our final background check as a formality simply to dot those i's and cross the t's because we have always been fortunate to eliminate nannies with less than stellar backgrounds prior to considering them for our families but nonetheless they are the final component prior to finalizing a commitment with a nanny and family. Our goal at A Perfect Fit is to ensure both our clients and nannies have a pleasurable experience throughout the entire placement process. Although as a small business we rely on our placement and replacement fees for services rendered, we also want what is best for the kids. As we explained to you in our final correspondence, we encouraged the replacement nanny that we referred to you to do what she felt was best for herself and for your children despite our conflicts. Despite our contract with her, we have no intention to interfere with a good thing over a disagreement about payment, especially in this situation. We sincerely hope for a positive and long lasting nanny/family relationship for all of you.
