Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2017/06/29) */
I am very offended that anyone would think we would sell used merchandiseWhen people buy Sherri Hill they understand that you can't reorder off her dresses cause by the time you get them in store you can't reorder they don't come in timeI
am so sorry for this misunderstandingSometimes these dresses come in and the snaps are lose we offer to tighten them upWe provide the upmost service around

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Why would I pay $ *** for a dress that is a USED floor modelIf I understood this ridiculous business practice of this place, I never would have gone there
There is nothing saying that when I order a Sherri Hill dress, that my dress comes off her showroom floor, damaged
She states when these dresses come in the snaps are loose, the snaps weren't just loose, my daughter could not wear the dress in the condition it was in
I had to sew and press it
She speaks as if this is a widely known business practice st her store and I believe it is a scam and I do not accept her response

To whom it may concern:
On 1/15/17 [redacted] and her mother came into A Pink Boutique to try prom dresses on. [redacted] had found a dress she loved and wanted to put it in lay-way. The dress was [redacted] and she put [redacted] down knowing all sales were...

final, as the receipt states. Three weeks later the mother called and explained how she lost her job and wanted a refund. I explained there are no refunds, but she could put the [redacted] towards a cheaper dress. She said she would come back in, so I hung the dress by our counter so we would have it in front for when she came in. She ended up coming in and looked around some more. She tried her original dress back on and loved it even more and decided to put another [redacted] down on it that day and left happy.
I went on our facebook page and saw she wrote a bad review on it. She claimed we would not work with her and that another store is selling the same dress for [redacted] I called her as soon as I saw it to solve the issue. I told her that dress for [redacted] was last years color and the dress we have was just bought at the Mart in August and is the new color and has to sell it at [redacted] I felt bad for the customer and that's why we tried to work with her. We always try to work with our customers. We have added an html with Zoe's dress from another dress store the is near us to show it does sell for [redacted] https://www.[redacted].com/dresses/designer/jovani/XXXXX

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I feel the owner is not giving you the true facts here. Here is why, They Layaway was not clear on terms , I asked if we should cancel , do we lose the [redacted] deposit and she said yes, So I clearly understood that, what was not clear was any extra money put down I was led to believe would be returned. They never clarified anything, all sales final means ususally in the retail industry if you should pay for something in full and try n return it you could not. But this was a layways and We put more than a [redacted] down, we ended up putting [redacted] down and had to cancel the layaway after a job loss and daughter not being able to go with boy to his prom due to school not allowing a homeschool student.. long story short. I called explained I knew I lost the [redacted] but I needed to cancel and they told me they couldn't give my the [redacted] back because they couldn't sell our dress. I didn't understand why becasue prom season was months away and they had my money and the dress and I had nothing, no dress or no money.
Now the part about another store selling the dress for [redacted] was not my complaint and I never approached her at all about that matter just I put it in a review on yelp as one of my complaints. but that was not the soul dispute I have. I wanted the [redacted] back of the [redacted] we put down and I cancelled the laya way. The store refused to do so, stating they can't acomodate us or give us our money back. She actually (owner) called to complain to me about my yelp review and stated her distaste for my complaint, and I told her that if they would've tried to work with me on some sort of deal to meet us half way at least on the returen of some of our money I would take the review down but I felt they were very unprofessional and unfair and not clear on their layway terms or upfront on it, like I said all sales final on the receipt ususally means after fully paid for and picked up you can't returen, we all know that , but this was a layaway,

This letter is in regards to the layaway plan that the Pink Boutique provides at there place of business as a complimentary service to their customers. Not many prom stores provide this service but the Pink Boutique likes to help their customers in providing an affordable way to pay for their dresses. Putting a prom dress on this type of layaway plan has the same "all sales final" terms as paying in full and taking the dress out of the store. The only difference is that the customer leaves their dress in the store where they can make payments till its completely paid off. We tell all our customers that "all sales are final" and once you put a dress in layaway there are no returns and no refunds. When a particular dress is selected we record that dress in our books so no one else from that school can buy the same dress. If we allowed people to return dresses that are put in layaway we would not have a business. Ninety nine percent of our customers take advantage of the layaway plan, and in the thirty years we have been in business we have never had anyone not understand what "all sales final" means let alone turn us in to the Revdex.com. What ever money you pay on a dress is what you forfeit if you decide later you don't want it anymore. Why would someone put a dress in layaway knowing they would lose their [redacted] if they changed their mind and then come back and pay more on the dress and expect that money to be returned cause they don't want the dress anymore? This service is to accommodate our customers but, it is not something that allows our customers to return their dresses just because they never left the store. We are very sorry for the misunderstanding but, in all respect have to go back to the term, "ALL sales final" that is stamped on every receipt.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
