A Place To Shoot, Inc. Reviews (2)

It is unfortunate that this individual still feels A Place To Shoot did not meet his standards.     As the General Mgr. I can assure you that we always try to reach out to every customer that comes to do business with us.  We have been in business for many years and serve our...

community as the largest outdoor range in San Antonio.   We staff the range with experienced and Certified Range Safety Officers at all times and even have an EMT on duty to provide a level of safety that surpasses all other ranges in our immediate area. The backgrounds of most of our staff are retired military, retired police officers, swat officer, to name a few.   We also have and staff, State Certified DPS LTC Instructors, State Certified School Safety Firearms Instructors, NRA Certified Range Safety Officers, NRA Chief Safety Instructor and NRA Home Safety Instructors. On the date mentioned above, I was also working when I heard the complaint from the individual who is filling this with the Revdex.com. He not only read a disclaimer which is given to everyone who is using the Archery Range, he also signed our document/disclosure,  confirming he read and understood the procedures and policies in regards to the use of the Range and or procedure to follow should they incur a problem or any issues. After using the Archery Range for approximately an hour, (verified by myself/ General Mgr., my Assistant Mgr., our Chief DPS State Certified Firearms Instructor other one other employee, the individual filing this complaint came in with his target and complained of the arrows passing through the backstops and that he had to keep going and retrieving them.  We were somewhat baffled as to the fact that he had been shooting on Archery for so long before he decided to come on in and state that there was a problem ?? That being said, I am enclosing some photos that will show the document and target he used and his name will be covered as request by Revdex.com. We offered him a Free Shooters Pass that he could use anytime ( no expiration date ) for any inconvenience's, but if was clear to us that he did not report any issues to us until he had finished on the Archery range which again was just over an hour. In addition we had many other customers using the Archery range on that same day and no one had any issues.  Prior to this day and even until now, we have had many customers use the same backstops and Archery areas without any complaints. We feel that the facts of this matter is without warrant and hope you find our facts sufficient to conclude that the individual did indeed used the facilities and when finished just wanted to slam our business. Even though we did not have any obligation because of the facts, we still decided to offer him a FREE /  no cost shooting experience (Valued price he had paid for using range) for a future return that is also fully transferable should he had decided to give to a friend or family member.  Management A Place To Shoot13250 Pleasanton RoadSan Antonio, TX 7822[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:
The multiple points made in your argument are either extraneous or not accurate. The target I shot is not visible in the photo attachment. The backgrounds of most of your employees has nothing to do with the state of disrepair your archery range is in. I am certain I spent less than 30 minutes attempting to use the range. The multiple attempts or "continued attempts to retrieve" came as I shot each target individually. The 20 yard, 30, 40, and 50 yard targets were all lacking capability to properly stop an arrow. I shot groups at each, only to discover pass throughs and/or arrows buried up to the fletching in the foam. The time I spent on the range was spent moving to new targets in search of ONE target that would stop arrows reliably. I notice you did not include pictures of your range targets because if so this exchange of statements would be concluded upon the acknowledgement of A Place to Shoots tattered archery targets. At no point has A Place to Shoot denied my statement that they have failingly attempted to correct this issue with targets by hanging felt sheets behind the targets. If the targets were acceptable, additional layers of felt would not have been tacked on in a half hearted attempt to keep the range targets in service. This addition in itself should be acknowledgment that there was a problem in the first place and the cheap solution was apparently inadequate.
