We discovered via internet posting that Missouri Eye Institute's Revdex.com score was a B-. We have never the history of our company had a negative complaint referred to the Revdex.com by a...

patient. Unfortunately, at the original time this first complaint was began and the Revdex.com notified us, we were in the process of changing administration. Although that is not an excuse, we feel that the complaint "fell through the cracks". Missouri Eye Institute takes patient complaints very seriously and our goal has always been to resolve these issues in a respectful way.
In researching Mr. [redacted]'s account, we find that he had called the day before the surgery requesting a statement. It was explained, at that time, that we could not issue a statement until after the surgery was performed. As insurance plays a role in the billing process, we cannot quote the allowable/payable amounts prior to the processing of the claim through insurance. Any charges given are quotes only.
Mr. [redacted] did pay his fees of $86.00 for the doctor services and $66 for the use of the laser room on the day of the surgery [redacted]. He stated that he had a close friend that had the same procedure, but his friend did not pay anything. Every patient is unique with different insurance deductibles and benefits, so even if his friend did not pay, that does not mean that the same will be for Mr. [redacted] or the following patient.
Mr. [redacted] was scheduled for a post-op examination on [redacted], but cancelled his appointment. We have not had contact with Mr. [redacted] since his [redacted] surgery.
Missouri Eye Institute looks forward to resolving this issue and removing this complaint from our profile. We feel that this was a misunderstanding between the patient and our office that could have been handling directly and was not by any means issue which should have been referred to the Revdex.com. However, we are responding and would like to resolve any issues with Mr. [redacted] now that we are aware of his issue.
