Dear [redacted],
Please be advised that we are responding to complaint # [redacted] that has been sent to you from [redacted].  The complaint states that we installed a roof at her property on 4/21/2015, this is completely correct.  We installed a new roof on her upper...

main flat roof, removed two turbine fans and installed two new turbine fans, and installed a new roof at her lower back roof.
[redacted] did call us about a leak that she was having and our service department did respond to investigate the leak but [redacted] was not home at the time.  Upon inspection no leaks were found in the two roofs that we installed.  We called [redacted] and informed her of this.  She also complained about a diverter that she wanted installed but was not included in her contract for services rendered. It was explained to her over and over again that we would not install this diverter because her porch roof was an old roof and that we did not want the liability of installing the said diverter on a roof that was old and in poor condition.  The diverter was never a part of her job.
We were then harassed by [redacted] over and over again about this diverter but no service issues were discussed again until the last week of December.  I myself went out to [redacted]'s property and while she didi not want to let me into her house because she allegedly had the flu she finally let me in for an inspection.  Upon the inspection, I found no active leaks but did find old stains on the ceiling that were never repaired.  I then did an inspection of the outside of the residence and found that there were major cracks in the brick and mortar of the residence that were in the area of where she said the roof was leaking.  Upon further inspection at the rear lower roof or as she calls the shed kitchen roof I found that there was a problem with the flashing above the roof with had nothing to do with the roof that we installed.  In fact [redacted]'s husband made repairs to this area because he knew it was not the roof.  Due to the fact that we always value our customers I then again sent my service department back out to the house to reinspect and verify what I determined to be the cause of the leakage.  We sent [redacted] a letter with all of this information included.  We also informed [redacted] in this letter that the diverter was never included in the work to be performed by virtue of her contract and that if she read her contract she would understand this and that the upper roof has a Fifteen-year service warranty but the lower rear roof has no warranty and that is why it is listed on her contract after the warranty information.  We also informed her that the contract does state "Contracts are void if anyone other than APlus walks on or tampers with roof", her roof has been tampered with by her husband and others from what she has told us.
It must be understood that the roofs are not leaking, there are other issues of masonry and flashing at this property that we cannot and will not be held responsible for.  We also will not be held hostage for material to be installed that was never contracted for.
It is our suggestion that [redacted] hire a masonry company to repair her walls.  It is her with her own wording that she states that there are leaks where the "bay window meets the wall".  How are we to be responsible for leaks in the wall when we installed a roof.
I will try to email a copy of the contract to you under a separate email.
Sincerely,
Mark *. L[redacted]
President
