The home owner's home warranty company sent us out to diagnose and repair the unit per their home warranty contract with the home ownerThe home owner complaint was the unit would not turn onThe home owner stayed in the room watching and talking to the technician through the entire repairOur
technician diagnosed and found a burnt junction block to dishwasher cutting power to unitHe repaired wires and tested the unit was fully functioning turning on as designedThe home owner then brought up and issue of the unit smell (not on original claim) - our technician took a look and found drain hose lower than disposal causing water to backwash into dishwasherHe raised the hose to correct the issueThe home owner and our technician went over everything he did on the unit opening the door multiple times looking inside etcWhen the home owner called our office to bring up an issue of the door falling to the floor we explained that wasn't what we originally worked on, so it seems like a coincidence the issues happened so close together, but we would come take a look at it as quickly as possible and let him know what would need to be done to repair - informed him he may need top open a second claim with his home warranty for a second issueDoor falling to the floor was never reported on original complaintOur technician went back out to look at the door for free and found that the spring inside the door (a place we never worked on originally) had come undoneAs a courtesy our tech reinstalled the spring while he was there so that the door would not fall to the floorThe home owner is now issuing a complaint of bent door hingesThe door falling to the floor and bent hinges were never reported on his original claim with his home warranty and we are only authorized by his home warranty to repair the issue reported, anything a home owner wants repaired that isn't listed on the claim needs to be brought up with their home warranty to open an additional claim or the home owner needs to pay for themselvesWe only collected copay $per the home warranty contractIf the home owner wants it refunded it's something he would need to bring up with his warranty company since his contract is with them and we have to collect it due to our contract to be a servicer for them We have done everything we can to help this home owner with his appliance repair needs including repairing a spring for freeIf he wants/needs any other repairs done he would need to open the claim with his home warranty or pay for the repairs personally since they are in no way related with the original repair of burned up wiring
