Response Complaint #Revdex.com,As the owners at A+ Transmission Specialists, we strive to maintain a transparent and cost effective repair processA process that is provided to each and every customer that comes to us for inspecting driveline issues and providing repair servicesWe service in excess of
vehicles a week at our South Austin locationThe success of our company and our goal to provide the public a quality, affordable and forthcoming repair process is unwaveringHowever, from time to time, we do have customers that we cannot completely satisfy and have to address these complaints in a straight-forward and factual manner. On 6/12/the customer came in stating problems with high RPM shifting and oil leakingIt was found that the oil pan gasket, crankshaft oil seal, main bearing oil seal were leaking, and the engine valve timing oil pressure switch was malfunctioning with a trouble code PThe stated engine seals were replaced for a service cost of $The oil pressure switch and o-ring seal was replaced for a service cost of $These were the two itemized charges on the service ticketThe car was delivered for a total of $on 6/13/and the customer paid with a credit card, signed all our service authorization paperwork, and left with the vehicle showing 167,miles on the odometer. On 7/17/The customer came in with check engine light onIt was found that the battery terminals were loose and corrodedThe battery terminals were cleaned, voltage was checked, battery performance was verified, codes were cleared, and battery terminals were tightenedThe car was delivered to customer free of charge for services rendered. On 7/24/The customer came in again with check engine light onIt was found that a wiring harness terminal external to the transmission for shift solenoid B had come loose causing low voltage input to solenoid B and the trouble code PThe loose terminal was repaired underneath the vehicle, codes were cleared and the car was delivered to the customer free of charge for services rendered. On 8/31/The customer came in stating an oil leak conditionIt was found that the oil pressure switch that was previously installed was leakingThe customer elected to purchase a genuine Acura replacement switch instead of the OEM equivalent we installed previously from our parts supplier that we offered to replace under warrantyCustomer left with their vehicle while the Acura part was on order. After multiple attempts to assist customer with getting correct oil pressure switch ordered and delivered to our shop from Acrua, the customer elected to not leave the car with the shop for 1-hours when the correct part was finally in-hand for the needed repair to take placeNo warranty repair was completed, and customer left with the replacement switch they had ordered from Acura to install by their own means. On 11/15/the customer took their vehicle to *** *** Acura for multi-point inspection for rough idle, check airbag light “on”, inspect disconnected hose on engine, check for oil leak, and check engine coolant level. The customer asked us to talk with the service advisor at *** ***, and we did, to go through the inspection findings with them*** *** determined the engine valve timing oil pressure sending switch was leaking and that there was a metal crush washer found on the assembly, they also found a disconnected vacuum line on the rear engine motor mount that had broken and failed to secure the engine properly creating the rough idle condition. We told *** *** and the customer that the original oil pressure switch repair with an OEM equivalent from our parts supplier included an o-ring seal that was replaced by our technician on 6/15/We do not know how, when, or why the metal crush washer was installed. We also reviewed our 22-point inspection paperwork from the customer’s visits on 6/12/2015, 7/17/2015, and 7/24/where we do a thorough driveline and engine condition inspectionWe told *** *** and the customer that the motor mounts were checked at each of these visits as part of our routine cheprocess with every vehicle and all were in good working conditionThe vehicle also did not exhibit a rough idle condition and was in good working condition with no vacuum leaksIt is highly likely that the mount failed at some time between our repairs and the inspection made at *** *** AcuraEngine mounts are common failures above 100,miles on Honda/Acura vehicles, and the customer’s vehicle shows 170,miles at the time *** *** performed their inspectionA single failed mount can cause other mount hardware to loosen, and failures at other engine attachment points including old vacuum hoses as the engine begins to move around more freely when under torque during acceleration. At no point in our conversation with the service provider at *** *** did they indicate there was negligence on our part for the findings in their inspectionThere is also no written mention of negligence on the service documents from *** *** we were provided copies of for review*** *** also did not note any vehicle safety issues. After again extending an offer to have our shop address the replacement of the oil pressure switch under warranty, the customer elected to have *** *** perform all of the repairs for the items to be addressed on their inspectionThey replaced the leaking oil pressure switch, the rear engine mount and reattached the vacuum line, then also replaced a seat belt buckle, cleared associated airbag light code, and checked customer’s coolant level and charged the customer $855.22.To address customer’s desired settlement of the entire service costs charged by us on 6/13/for the amount of $1,- We do not find any direct evidence to support a refund for work done to seal the oil pan gasket, crankshaft oil seal, and rear main oil bearing seal for the itemized amount of $We also believe we went above and beyond to address two additional service issues at subsequent visits to address check engine light repairs at no additional costs. However in the interest of goodwill, and to reach a favorable resolution with this Revdex.com complaint, we are willing to refund the $service cost that was charged to the customer by our company for the initial oil pressure switch repairWe hope that this meets with the customers approval so we can make arrangements to send them a refund check as soon as possible. Thanks to the Revdex.com for your review process, and the opportunity to respond,*** Revdex.com,After reviewing the information shared with us from the Acura dealership the customer took his vehicle to on 11/15/2015, they did not indicate any overlooked safety concerns, or indicate that there was a missing bolt from a control arm that needed to be replaced. They did find a broken motor mount and the associated vacuum line disconnected from it which was causing the vehicle’s rough idle condition that the customer reported upon bringing it to them. This was a new symptom and not something that was a concern when he last visited our shop on 9/15/2015 two months prior for an oil leak. We spent some time tracking down the oil leak and then offered to address it under warranty since it was coming from a new oil pressure switch that we installed on 6/13/2015. The customer ultimately refused to let us perform the warranty work and decided to take the vehicle into the Acura dealership two months later. Our vehicle check-in sheets and vehicle inspection reports for each time the customer came to our shop did not have any rough idle or broken motor mounts indicated at any time. As to the customer’s conclusion he was involved in a “scam", the Store Manager the customer worked with in June was fired by the Owners for stealing cash from the Company. This customer’s transaction was processed with a credit card and was properly recorded in the Company books without any complications. We are still willing to refund the service charge of $77.37 the customer was charged by our shop on 6/13/2015 for the leaking oil pressure switch installation. He can contact the shop to make arrangements for this settlement.Regards,[redacted] and [redacted]Owners & OperatorsA+ Transmission Specialists - Austin

I am rejecting this response because:A Plus transmission is the only party at fault as the lower suspension had just been reviewed by acura and our insusrnce company before being taken to A plus transmission. During reinstallation of the transmission a plus transmission zip tied the the vacumm house that attachs to the engine mount to the upper sway bar. They also failed to reinstall the bolt to the control arm. I had dropped off my car for over a week with a plus transmission only to find they had over loold many safety issues. It had come to my conclusion that A plus transmission uper management was stealing from the shop with off book transactions. I am not sure if I was part of this scam however it makes sense that nothing was done to my car accept reconnecting a loose battery terminal after a week. I am asking for a plus transmission to take care of there negligent work as mentioned in the bill they have been provided. If this is not the case then I will file suit and subpoena all parties involved for a trial.
