A POOL SERVICE

We hired [redacted] after seeing his ad in the yellow pages, to repair our swimming pool which had cracked. Mr. [redacted] told us about a fiberglass patch he would apply and then said he would re coat the pool with a "Gel Coat" layer. He stated that this is a fool proof fix and he offered us a lifetime warranty. Mr. [redacted] said this renovation would take him 10 days to complete. He then talked us into replacing all of the tile in our pool even though the existing tile was in great shape. He convinced us that there might be leaks under the existing tile, which did not turn out to be the case and he convinced us to "coat" our deck with his miracle sealer that would make it look so great and "Brand New."

Mr. [redacted] had 1 person working on our pool and it took over 3 weeks for him to complete the job. He would only show up a couple of days a week but he did finally complete it. Mr. [redacted] came up with additional costs throughout the job that I felt like should have been figured into the original price he quoted us like $200.00 worth of caulk!

The deck looked horrible from day one. It had dirt under the sealer and light and dark spots all around and he charged us $750.00 for this pitiful workmanship. The first time it rained the sealer partially washed off and left our deck streaked. We chalked this up to an experience and decided to live with it.

3 weeks after our pool was completed we saw several spots where the "Gel Coat" was peeling off so we started calling Mr.[redacted] but could never get an answer or a return call. After weeks of trying to reach him we finally hired an attorney who sent a letter to Mr.[redacted] which finally made him call us. Mr. [redacted] did eventually come back, He drained our pool again and repaired the spots that were peeling and we covered the pool for the winter.

I uncovered our pool about a month ago and was sickened by what I saw. The "Gel Coat" is peeling off all over the pool, the tile is falling off, and the coating is disintegrating! We immediately started trying to reach Mr. [redacted] and leaving him messages but as usual, we still haven't heard anything from him.

We Have now hired a reputable pool company who told us that this so called "Gel Coat" that Mr. [redacted] put on our pool is actually paint! It's going to cost us and additional $1,500.00 to have this mess removed on top of the fortune we'll have to spend to make the original repairs in the correct manner.

Mr. [redacted] charged us just under $8,000.00 for what has turned out to be a nightmare. Not one single thing that he did to our pool was done properly. The deck sealer was a joke, the mastic is a mess, he patched 2 spots on the deck that are absolutely pitiful looking, the tile is falling off and the so called "Gel Coat" has also ruined our main filter by disintegrating and flowing through our equipment. The workmanship was horrible, the material he used was a joke and I feel like what he sold us was actually a fraud or a scam.

We have decided to proceed with legal action and move on. [redacted] is very unreliable, deceitful, dishonest and should not be allowed to continue to conduct business!
