Unfortunately the Mfgdoes not cover issues like this and whether you haul it sideways or forward, things can always be prone to fall off when trailering with an open trailerNo one states when trailering use bungee cords but the owners manual does show procedure #for transporting an ATV to secure the fuel cap, oil cap and seat to prevent loss during transportIt's a good habit to ensure things stay in their proper place Anything can happen between Sept.10th date of purchase and Sept18th day of the trip, the customer could have removed the seat and not properly reinstalled it causing it to blow off in transport Initially the customer was demanding a new seat We do try our best to accommodate customers needs and situations and would be willing to assist the customer with a discount on the seat cover and installation at our store

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.  The attachment that references the owner manual has NOTHING to do with the seat flying off the machine.  Did a plus even read the complaint??  I know the correct way to strap my atv to a trailer.  There is nothing in the owners manual about strapping the seat to the machine!!
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]

Review: We purchased a new Polaris 2014 Sportsman 570 Touring atv from Brian on September 10. Took in on its first trail ride on the 19th at the Cheese county trail in Monroe Wisconsin. On our way back we went thru Beloit, entered I43 and continued north about 15 miles later the seat from the atv flew off and almost hit the car behind me. I had to pull over and retrieve the seat laying in the middle of the freeway. Upon inspection the seat cover is torn and the foam was coming out. The next day I took the atv to A Plus to find out about covering it under warranty. She said that the reason it flew off was because I side loaded the atv and when trailering it I should wrap bungee cords around it to keep it from flying off. I stated to her that the owners manual says nothing nor did anyone at A Plus say anything when I purchased the atv the week before about side loading or bungee cords. I have 2 other atvs which I have side loaded for almost 10 years and never had problems with.Desired Settlement: They should replace the seat cover or at least split the cost of a new one. They are going to loose a customer that just bought a 7200$ atv for a 150$ cover.

Response:

The problem started when a friend desired to purchase a motorcycle from A+ Power Sports. We took the motorcycle for a test ride, liked it, and she gave them a $300 deposit to hold the bike pending financing. After the financing fell through, they informed her that the deposit was 100% Non-Refundable. Although the paperwork does in fact state this, we were not informed of it at the time payment was given, and we do not believe that this is common practice at motorcycle dealerships. She stopped payment on the check.

My involvement comes from the test ride. There was a lot of paperwork involved, and in the process, the salesman forgot to give me back my drivers licence. When I returned to the dealership to get it, they expected me to pay $15 to cover their losses from the failed transaction. I refused to pay, and unless they have discarded it, they still have the license.

I have made informal inquiries at several other local motorcycle shops. The common policy at those shops is that a deposit in refunded unless work was done on the motorcycle prior to the completion of the sale at the shop's expense.
