A-QUALITY Paving, Sealcoating & Striping, Inc. Reviews (2)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint First let me say Dr*** verbally told me that the work he did would need repairswhen she had it done and on the phone after it fell off the last timeHe told me he did not charge for the repairs The only reason I made a complaint is because he didn't return my phone callMy daughter wore braces for years and Dr*** knew that she would eventually have to have an implantHe told her orthodontist that the spaces in her mouth were good and the bridge he put in would be temporaryWell since my last visit with him I took my daughter to another dentist for a cleaning and to discuss what can be done about this bridge that won't stay in and they suggested we begin the process for the implant Now we find out the space in her mouth is not big enough for the implant and she has to have braces againSo not only was the work he did not good but she can't even go forward with the implant without having braces againI had gone to Dr *** for over years and at times I had insurance that he didn't except and at other times we didn't have insurance so if I saw a coupon for another dentist of course I used it Also my daughter did not say she bit a fork and caused it to get loose againWhat she said was she was using a fork and not just biting into food with her front teethShe has been very careful with this thing because of the problems she was having with it falling outThe last thing a teenage girl wants it to be missing a front tooth As far as I'm concerned this all could have been avoided had Dr *** spoke directly to me and been honestI asked him if he had a problem with us, did I owe him any money and he told me no, on the phone just before we came in to get her retainer checkedThe last time I went to his office Then when I'm leaving Stacey wants to give me a letter to sign basically saying because Rachel plays sports it will be a $charge to repair something Dr *** told me just the night before that he didn't charge for I feel like since we basically have to start over with her braces I deserve a full refundDr *** should not have told her orthodontist that the space in her mouth was good knowing that she needed an implantIt's not right that we have to start this process over because of his bad judgementHe's the dentistI would expect him to know.

Tell us why here...
In response to the complaint #[redacted] from [redacted], regarding her daughter, I would like to clarify the inaccuracy of her statement. Due to the nature of our professional relationship with the [redacted] family, and HIPPA laws, unfortunately we are greatly restricted by the...

details we can discuss. I will say that her account of details is not what is documented in our records. There has been no consistency of visits in our office to monitor treatment that was provided. Only when there was a problem, would any appointments be made. The risks and benefits of the treatment provided, and chosen by Ms. [redacted] for her daughter, were fully explained prior to the onset of such treatment. No warranty on such treatment was either implied or given due to the temporary nature of one type treatment. I specifically stated to Ms. [redacted] at the time of treatment on her daughter, that there was no warranty on this type of treatment due to its temporary nature. It was an interim cosmetic procedure not designed for function such as biting and chewing. In addition, there was no warranty given by the lab that fabricated the temporary prosthesis. I did state that the temporary prosthesis was repairable in the event that it was damaged but not at no charge to her. Any warranty on the other treatment was subject to regular check-up visits which were not complied with. In addition, it was stated by her daughter that she “bit into a fork” which absolutely could have been the cause of the situation.

In response to my Office Manger being “rude” to her. The implication was that Ms. [redacted] was seeking ongoing “free dentistry” and unwilling to pay for non-warrantied work. My Office Manager was trying to explain that we could no longer provide free services. Ms. [redacted] was argumentative regarding the situation requiring a firm tone to clarify that any future treatment would require a fee. A letter explaining our position was presented to Ms. [redacted] at the next visit, which she refused to sign and abruptly left our office.

We never refused to treat her daughter at any point, we simply made it clear that we would no longer provide any services for free and what the expectations and responsibility on her part would be. Ms. [redacted] herself, nor any other family members, have shown any loyalty to me and my practice by considering themselves patients of consistent record in a number of years, but one of convenience. In the past, it was made clear that for routine visits, whoever had the cheapest “deal” in town or was offering a coupon was the dentist of choice for Ms. [redacted] and her family even asking if we accepted competitor coupons. As a professional healthcare provider, we do not offer or accept coupons.

I regret that Ms. [redacted] felt compelled to attempt to taint my reputation and good standing in our community. The many positive reviews, 4.9 out of 5 stars, on our website from both new patients as well as long time existing patients speaks volumes of my character and business practices.

Please feel free to contact my office if there are any other questions or concerns regarding this complaint/dispute. I may add, that in all my years of practice and as a member of the Revdex.com, we have never had a complaint lodged against us. I thank you in advance for your help in the resolution of this matter.

Sincerely,
Thomas [redacted], DDS
