technician sent out by home warranty company improperly removed parts of our HVAC unit then tried to say they were like that when he got there
A technician was sent out by our home warranty company and the technician improperly removed parts of our HVAC unit according to two different opinions from other technicians with different companies. The technician then tried to say the parts were already removed and wires cut when he got there originally; he then proceeded to tell the home warranty company that our unit had been out for months prior to us having our warrant contract so that it wouldn't be covered. After multiple calls to the company they refused to send anyone back out to at least put the unit back together so the home warranty company could send out a different company for a 2nd opinion. The owner of the company then preceded to tell us that the HVAC board was a joke and didn't know anything so it wouldn't matter if we reported something to them and the technician he'd sent was the "top technician in the state of Alabama"

Desired Outcome

We'd like a refund for the parts the technician removed improperly causing us to have to replace them regardless of whether they were working or not.

Mr *** called me drunk threatening to file complaints and bad reviews if we didn't come fix his A/C. He opened a contract with American Home Shield (AHS) with preexisting conditions and then tried to sneak those none covered issues in to be fixed under that contract. We have a reputation to uphold with AHS as well as there customers and ours. I will let our outstanding reputation stand for us. Thanks for the opportunity to voice our side of this incident.

The only reason this company was sent to my house is because I have *** Home *** & it was a second opinion call. The first AC company that came out to my house was chosen by us the homeowners which *** did approve. At this time we already had a diagnosis with picture and video evidence from the first company. Now, day one, this tech from AR&C Specialists shows to my home and the first thing he ask me is, "what's going on?" I explain to him why he is out at my house and explain to him what our problem is with the AC unit. He responds with some comments about *** and then, I quote, "they *** pays my bills." He preceded to go out back to look over the AC unit & claims that the first company apparently didn't look at anything & tells me that my problem is a weak capacitor. He said he put a new one on. He supposedly went under the house & looks over things. I hear a lot of noise from inside my home. He comes back in & says he finds nothing else to be wrong & that the weak capacitor was the problem & leaves. The same evening we continue to have the same problem with our AC unit. We call *** back for a recall. They send this same company & technician back out the next morning. He stays close to three hours. He enters and exits my home many, many, many times. Makes a lot of noise up under the house again. He comes in and ask about our thermostat and I tell him we have a Nest. He says, " I have one of those at home." Then he ask if he can go look at it & doesn't even know how to operate it...Back outside he goes, I can hear him on the phone outside, he goes sits in his van...comes back in after a while & tells me that he still has doubled checked things several times & he still can't find anything wrong, & he has tried to make it fail as in laying over the unit to try & make it over heat...& that he just doesn't know why our AC is doing what it's doing based on what I have told him that the AC unit is doing. He comes in again & is about to leave & thank the Lord the AC unit fails! It did exactly what I have been telling him. He again goes outside, comes in many more times...& still the tech says he just doesn't know and can't find anything wrong outside. He comes back in & looks at the Nest thermostat & now he states and I quote, "I'm leaning more torward your thermostat." He basically said my problem was our nest thermostat being hooked up incorrectly. (Which was never the problem).
Meantime, he also mentioned how it "could be" the board going out or a sticky valve... Then proceeded to tell me something about how his boss will not allow him to stay any longer on site and how it cuts into his time and money... and he leaves. Still in the same position as the day before, we are still having the same problems. is called back for another recall.
This same evening, we have our own third company come out & this guy finds the problem in like 5 minutes! It was the same problem the first company found. I also got video evidence again. I then call the technician from A, R, and C Specialists that left my house just a few hours before & came out to my house the day before & I had to leave a message for him to call me back. He calls me back & I ask him how many years of experience does he have in his profession. He tells me that he has 20+ years of experience in AC and refrigeration. I politely told him either 1. You are not very good at what you do, or 2. You are very dishonest. Of course he defends himself & tries to reassure me that he is a honest person, & he apologized for not finding the issue. *** sends out the recall again to this company & same technician for the third time & *** contacts us the next morning & states that this technician & company can not come back out due to conflict. *** then "has" to send out another company for their second opinion (which happened to be a company that the tech from AR&C complained about & made comments about how they have to go behind all the time to fix their problems). This new co found the problem too.
( the problem was a leak in the crap coil, low on Freon causing compressor to drop out)

After some nightmarish customer service experiences with other HVAC companies in the area, I finally was able to get complete satisfaction with A, R, & C Specialists.

They started by giving me a service window that worked with my work schedule. Then, early in that window, *** called to let me know he was in some heavy traffic and that he might be later than expected. It may not seem like much, but this kind of courtesy in communication is far beyond that offered by some of the other companies I have been dealing with, who miss their service windows with no notification, force me to call them, and make excuses without even an apology for wasting my time.

*** arrived later than he expected to, but still well within the projected service window, and he was able to diagnose and resolve the issue I was having with condensation leaking into the air handler and through the floor to the basement. He cleaned up any mess that he made, and apologized again for the delay, which was unnecessary, considering he actually arrived within the service window, but appreciated nonetheless.

He gave me his card and I will definitely be using them again.
