Had a repairman look at my hot water heater. When he gave me the final bill, it was for 2 hours of work. My eyes nearly popped out! How did he get 2 hours? He said half hour was for travel time. When I booked the appt. and asked about fees, they did NOT mention anything about travel time. I just thought it was part of the dispatch fee. If it had been explained upfront, I wouldn't have been so shocked. The other key thing was that the repairman was in no rush at all, he was taking his sweet time. Three examples: he was on his phone talking with a technician, troubleshooting. The line got disconnected. The repairman waited for a call back that took at least 10 minutes- during which he did nothing. Later, while he was on the phone, he went to his van for another 10 minutes. Don't know what he was doing. Then, when all was done, he went back to his van to process the paperwork - took another 10 min. I was charged for every single minute! Half an hour wasted time that I was charged for!
