Absolute rip-off. I trusted this company and he quoted me $9500 but discounted me to $8700 to widen my driveway with asphalt. He did not put the square footage into the contract. He said that the job would be done in a few weeks but showed up within 3 days to do the job. I guess he did not want to allow me any time to get other quotes. It turns out that the normal rate for this work is about $10 per square foot (per other quotes). I discovered that he put down about 550 square feet of asphalt so the job should have costed about $5500 to $6000. So he was $2700 higher than anyone else. He also charged $1000 to seal the driveway. I have since had quotes for that in the range of $600. If you look at other reviews, Mr. Rafferty did the same or tried to do the same to other people. I know that the rule is "let the buyer beware" but companies such as Rafferty Paving SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED to be on sites such as Home Advisor. I tried to appeal to Mr. Rafferty to get some of my money back but he ignores my emails.

My experience with Sam & his crew has been a fantastic experience from start to finish on my brand new asphalt paving job at my house they performed yesterday and today. If you like working with polite, courteous, prompt, professional, and above all trustworthy folks all at a very fair price, then you will really really appreciate working with Rafferty Paving Company!

Hello all; this is my review for Rafferty Paving Company in Hagerstown Maryland. I just contracted with Rafferty Paving where I am extremely pleased with every aspect of my work with owner Sam, his great crew, and his sons who were also a part of his great crew. Sam gave me a prompt professional experience starting with the day I called, to the price, the great experience with such polite, courteous, and highly experienced crew, to the fantastic quality and finished product which is a completely brand new asphalt driveway and giant parking pad from start to finish at my house. Sam was on the job the entire time supervising, and did exactly, and much more, than what he had promised me at the beginning--I could not be an happier with this company, their price, their professionalism & courteousness, and their fantastic work they provided me with. I recommend this company to anyone who enjoys working with folks who are honest, professional, hard working, and above all--trustworthy!

Review: I looked up business's on the internet for crushed concrete/drive ways around garage area for our home NE fl, st. johns area.Three business came up called first one a. rafferty paving construction. left message, next day they showed up at our house showing us pictures of there work product and what they will do for my garage area. gave us a quote, and agreed, two days later showed up in evening with equipment, dropped it off and came early in the morning to start job. Wed. 4/23/14 eve. finished what he said he could complete that he would come back in a few weeks that the millings would have to harden before he can roll again, and seal. Called company 2 wks later letting them know I am dissatisfied with outcome, not the way he said it would look like or final product would be, weeds coming through and still could not drive up on it ( it never hardened up to be able to drive on )please come fix problem. never contacted us back the 3 times I called.I believe they had no intention on coming back at all, at this point, but that is my opinion only!I had another company come out to look at the surface to see what can be done and his comment was "it was improperly installed, and not enough millings to harden. the way it was done it will not harden. To complete job, where it is at, would be estimated at $1,200.00." I already paid for a job that is not complete at the sum of $2,400.00 trusting the Revdex.com selected company that it would be done properly and honestly, so where do I go from here with this complaint and what do I do next?I appreciate any of your opinions in this matter and am looking forward to hearing from you and hopefully A. Would like it completely done right as proposed in the beginning. Just asking for what we paid for. No weeds, to be able to drive on our driveway and finish the product that was intended and paid for already. Finish the Job!!!!
