A Rainbow's End Adoption Reviews (1)

A Rainbow's End Adoption Service, Inc / [redacted] Style Definitions */ To Whom It May Concern: Our attorney has already addressed the [redacted] ’s concerns and his letters are attachedThe only concern he does not address is the social worker When finalizing an adoption in California, California law requires a social worker also called an Adoption Service Provider (ASP) to be hired to work with the birth parentsThe ASP works with the birth parents to ensure the adoption is legal, understand their rights and most importantly is not being forced into her decision so it is not surprising their attorney assigned a social worker to work with their birth parent Further to the above and our attorney’s letters to the [redacted] ’s, below is further information for your consideration Their birth mother contacted us regarding pursuing an adoption planRainbow’s End did an initial intake, had the birth mother fill out necessary forms, and did an in-person interviewBased on all this information, we felt we could present this case to prospective adoptive parentsDuring the interview process, we were informed that the birth mother’s other child was taken by CPS and there is no way she would be able to keep this child since she had an open CPS caseIn our experience if a birth mother has an open CPS case or history of drug use, CPS is usually involved and called at the birth of any other childThis information was verified by her acquaintances but unfortunately, CPS could not provide further information to us as it violates privacy laws The issue of the birth father was also discussed at this time [redacted] asked several questions and did ask at that time if she knew who the birth father wasThe birth mother claimed it was a “one night stand” and did not know who he wasIt was also asked if the father of her other child was the father of this baby and she adamantly denied thisWe told her if she did know we could work with the birth father and the attorney could work on getting all legal paperwork signed The birth mother maintained she did not know who the birth father wasWhen she came forward with a potential birth father, [redacted] called immediately to see if this would affect the adoptionThe birth mother said it would not and at the time we received communication from potential birth father confirming he was willing to sign As to the document that [redacted] refers to, please see the attached letters from our attorneyAlso, on the birth father information form, the birth mother left it blank and signed it as such [redacted] is known to be a boisterous person and if it seems like she was yelling that was never her intentionAs far as the birth mother not liking ***, we find this hard to believe We have had several calls and texts from the attorneys in this case that it was difficult for them to work with the birth mother and that [redacted] had a better relationship with the birth parent and was able to get through to her The birth mother went to [redacted] for the majority of her needs and would communicate with [redacted] better than any of the other professionals involved When a birth mother lives a certain mileage away from us, we try our best to see the birth mother at least once a monthSometimes, birth parents do not confirm our visit and so travel plans are cancelled [redacted] made at least four visits to the birth parent during the [redacted] ’s match where she would try to get the birth mother to the doctor, take care of her medi-cal, or other issues spending hours trying to get adoption related issues taken care ofNot only did [redacted] make these visits, at least once a week if not more she maintained texts and phone calls with the birth mother throughout the adoption processAll these visits and any new information obtained through text or phone calls were forwarded to the [redacted] ’sWe also wanted it noted [redacted] immediately rearranged her schedule after learning [redacted] flew out to California not notifying us nor did she consult with us about her plansWe would have liked to be given the opportunity to have been consulted on this decisionWe also provided the opportunity for the [redacted] ’s to remove themselves from this match and explained what we would try to do for them if they chose to do so; they decided to continue with the match After the failed adoption, we let the [redacted] ’s know we would do everything we could to find them a birth parent that met their new criteriaWe in no way made assurances or guarantees that Rainbow’s End would be able to quickly match them, but would try to do everything we knew how to find them a new situationThe [redacted] ’s did make it very difficult to work with themThey believe it is “none of our business” what their adoption plans were and just to present casesIn order for us to present cases, be empathic, sympathic, advise on next steps, and simply do the basics of our job we need to know where our families are in the adoption process – changes in criteria, inquiries, concerns, whether they want to be put on hold, matched through another adoption professional and whether that match was successful or not, etc The [redacted] ’s told us they needed time to recover emotionally and financially from what they went through which we understood because this is a lossWe followed up and were informed they needed more time to let the dust settle since they experienced another failed adoption, which we knew nothing aboutThey had very strict criteria and we understood whyAt the same time, this email informed us they would like a birth parent situation where the birth of the baby was eminent and wanted a girl, but would consider unknown sex They immediately turned down a case because it was a boy They later changed their criteria and we were able to present them all cases we had so they could make a case-by-case decisionMany birth parents come to us early in the pregnancy, have some form of past or current drug/alcohol history, need help with expenses, etcIn one case a birth mother was from Canada but her legal status was not questionable as they indicateShe had her Visa and we consulted with an adoption attorney to ensure we could work with her and ensure a safe and legal adoptionOnce we received confirmation it was okay to work with her we presented her case to the [redacted] ’s and other prospective adoptive familiesWe sent several communications to the [redacted] ’s that usually went unansweredIt was usually when we reached out to their adoption advisors that we were able to get answers and usually days later We expressed our eagerness to work with the [redacted] ’s after their birth mother decided to not move forward with an adoption plan but was met with resistance every step of the way Should you need more information or have further questions or concerns, please let us know Thanks, [redacted] ***
