August 20, 2015Dear ***:I received your inquiry about the work that’s going on between [redacted] -- who is paying (as a donation to her church) to have a church directory created for her church in Palmer, AK –– and myself. The sole proprietorship that I used to have, and which I plan to start up again in the future, was most recently named A Red PenguinI deactivated its EIN number in and the only income I’ve had in the past two years came from the website I did for [redacted] 's church (which she also had me do for the church as a donation), and from the directory in question.A website is up at the URL aredpenguincom, and perhaps it shouldn’t be, but I had been assuming it was not getting any traffic because it has only generated one actual inquiry over the past two years. Now, regarding the claim you received, I see that [redacted] is asking for $I don’t see why this would be warranted, thoughThat is the full agrepurchase price for the project, but I have only ever received the 50% upfront that I required to get work startedI received $through [redacted] on January 5, 2015, but no more, so I’m not understanding what the basis would be for asking for $500.Also, if I were to send you the current [redacted] file for the directory, I suspect you might think, “But this work is worth much more than $already.” The cover art alone (a photo montage) may be worth that, but the actual directory now consists of two sheets in an Excel database as well as the master [redacted] file itself, which has been designed to meet the same level of quality I’ve delivered, in the past, for national associationsThe [redacted] files are merged with the master [redacted] file so that all updates can be easily completed and the data will be automatically formatted in the merge process. The work is, I think you'd see, 90% finishedSo then you might be wondering why I haven’t simply gone ahead and finished it, and the reason for that is simply that, at this point, every effort that I’ve made to email back and forth to finish this job has resulted in my usually not getting a reply that has to do with the job, but instead getting four or five replies having to do with the client’s life or asking what I’m up to in my own, with follemails telling me what I haven’t replied to yet.And if I don’t (or even do) reply to all of them then many others arrive (again, having to do with personal life and not with work) and more mentions are made of what I “haven’t gotten to yet” in the personal email stream. There have been many instances now where I have avoided responding to non-business emails for weeks at a time to Show that I am serious about focusing only on the directory, and finishing it, but as soon as I try getting in touch to proceed, the pattern of being expected to put hours into personal correspondence resumes. The client seems so determined to continue this that she has now attempted to involve the Revdex.com in imposing keeping up the personal email stream.I would definitely like to finish the directoryIdeally, I would like to then be paid the remaining $I have mentioned beginning to send invoices for hosting the church's website on part of my leased server space, but continue to have that request be ignored(It has been hosted there at no charge to the church since mid-) And I also would greatly appreciate receiving no more requests to do free updates to the church websiteThat site, as you can see at http:// [redacted] .org/, is completely finished and the price, $3,000, is much less than the worth of the hours put in, which were carefully tracked. As mentioned, when I’ve asked to receive no more requests to do additional (free) work on that site, I have not received a responseI do see, though, that [redacted] is doing a nice job of maintaining that site and has even begun adding musical files to the News page, so I’ve very happy to see thatI did my best to set the church up to have some exceptional communications tools, and when I’ve ceased communications, it has been only repeatedly making very clear that I would do it the because I couldn't keep contributing endless free work to the church and/or keep working to finish a job which had come to require many hours of personal correspondence for every hour of work I can get cooperation onI hope I've established that I'm not trying to "scam" anyone I don't have the $to return (but, as I've said I can forward you a PDF of the directory if you would like to make an estimation whether much more than $of work has been done)I don't think you'll find that I've over-priced work done on behalf of a [redacted] church on the outskirts of Anchorage.I would like to finish the job I can do the revisions contained in the email that [redacted] sent, but as you can imagine, I have no reason to believe that she'll cooperate with me in finishing the project unless I am also putting additional time into responding to personal emailsI’ve tried holding up when that happens and then trying and then trying again to proceeds, several times, but it hasn't worked yetIt would be great to receive the final $when the work is finished, but it will mean more to my eventual bottom line if I just get the work finished – working around any obstacles as best I can – and then get back to work finishing my own new website and relaunching my business.Lastly, I have nothing against the churchAs far as I’ve been told, the pastor there has never been told who did the work on the website or is doing the work on the directory, so the church itself has no role in this. And my only "problems” with [redacted] resulted from my realizing that she didn’t intend to let anyone know who had done the church website, which showed me that my clearly stated intention of attempting to set her up to make money from finding web design clients in Anchorage was a non-starter.That led me to reduce the time I was spending on staying in touch and sharing business knowledge, even though she’s actually a great manager of this type of work, and I expect she could do fine bringing in and managing website design projects up there, or expanding an e-commerce t-shirt website – featuring her own designs – that she has established.Spending much less time talking to [redacted] evidently led to the current situation, in which the Revdex.com has been recruited, ostensibly, to make sure I finish the jobbut in my experience, that actually means to make sure I answer every email that arrivesSo I'm still not sure exactly how to proceed efficiently, but knowing you guys have an awareness of the situation, I’ll proceed expecting that things will be kept focused on business, and the project will very soon be done, hopefully by the end of this month.I would like to complete this because I have committed to possibly working with several other people, as well, and I am looking forward to building a nationwide, and possibly international, stable of clientsI’ve been thorough and exacting in developing my communications and operational materials, and am looking forward to seeing where this new effort takes me.I hope that covers everythingPlease email me a [redacted] Com if you have any questionsAnd thanks very much.Sincerely,John V

August 20, 2015Dear [redacted]:I received your inquiry about the work that’s going on between [redacted] -- who is paying (as a donation to her church) to have a church directory created for her church in Palmer, AK –– and myself. The sole proprietorship that I used to have, and which I plan to start up...

again in the future, was most recently named A Red Penguin. I deactivated its EIN number in 2013 and the only income I’ve had in the past two years came from the website I did for [redacted]'s church (which she also had me do for the church as a donation), and from the directory in question.A website is up at the URL aredpenguin. com, and perhaps it shouldn’t be, but I had been assuming it was not getting any traffic because it has only generated one actual inquiry over the past two years. Now, regarding the claim you received, I see that [redacted] is asking for $500. I don’t see why this would be warranted, though. That is the full agreed-on purchase price for the project, but I have only ever received the 50% upfront that I required to get work started. I received $250 through [redacted] on January 5, 2015, but no more, so I’m not understanding what the basis would be for asking for $500.Also, if I were to send you the current [redacted] file for the directory, I suspect you might think, “But this work is worth much more than $250 already.” The cover art alone (a photo montage) may be worth that, but the actual directory now consists of two sheets in an Excel database as well as the master [redacted] file itself, which has been designed to meet the same level of quality I’ve delivered, in the past, for national associations. Since you have decided to close the case (closed on 9-8), I'm not sure if you can add anything to the file for that case number, but if you can, could you please add the following. 9 months later and I am still scammed of $250.00. When Revdex.com became involved, the owner of the business started to communicate. Once Revdex.com closed the case, the owner has quit communication. The Owner, John V[redacted], had mentioned in a Revdex.com response that he hopes to have the project done by the end of August. It is now October 3 and he has not done anything on the project. He won't refund me my money or give me the service I paid for. Thank you. I feel that is important to have on file in case other people come to you for feedback on this business. I would not want anybody to have to go through this. [redacted]

Revdex.com/John V[redacted],
I have attached a PDF of my letter. Revdex.com, please forward this to John via the postal service. You may send it online as well, but with John not checking regular email anymore, that's probably not the best way.  I am rejecting his letter for now until I know that I am not getting scammed. From there, I will accept his letter. For now, I can't say I am not getting scammed, so I'd like this complaint (complaint: [redacted]) to remain open. I still want Revdex.com apart of this. Thank you very much.
[redacted]
(On an extra side note, I'd like a heart-felt apology from the company. Not just something short here on Revdex.com complaint system, but actually getting on and talking to me and giving me an actual heart-felt, well meant apology deep down from the heart. I'm not sure this is anything Revdex.com can do anything with, and that's ok. But if the company sees this, that would be great.)
