A. Ricci General Contractor Reviews (1)

I am writing in response to what I believe is a false complaint by Ms [redacted]. The copy of the initial contract she has provided should have been sent along with a copy of the invoice I gave her and have attached to this letter. The invoice reflects the changes as it does not state four foot pillars...

would be in the pad. When the concrete pad was being excavated I encountered large amounts of groundwater, and the homeowner was informed of this. I have provided photos of this attached to the letter. Due to the issue the homeowner was informed that I will pour a reinforced thickened slab which included steel, something that was not documented on the initial contract but left the cost of the same as the same account of concrete and labor would be required. I was not provided with any information outside of a family member of her would be installing a screen house on the slab. I was never provided with plans showing a permanent structure that would require a building permit. By no means have I attempted to mislead the customer in any way and she was informed that changes were being made due to the ground water. Had I been shown plans for a permanent structure I would have taken different actions to deal with the the groundwater and would have had to increase cost but there were no plans presented which left me under the impression that this would be a standalone screen house that could be purchased at a home improvement store. I did not provide a new contract reflecting changes as I informed her of the changes and believed there was a mutual understanding. My copy of the bill does not have a date but I ask she provide her a copy of the document to Revdex.com as it is the front page to my carbon copy. Also in reference to her contacting the town of [redacted] and claiming I was not registered with them is invalid. I have had a business license in the town since 1982. My unwillingness to make changes for free is due to the fact that I believe there was a change in plans and the homeowner was told that to build a permanent structure a foundation was needed. As I stated if I was provided with plans at the time I would have taken different steps outside of informing the homeowner why I couldn't go down four feet. I took the pictures of the groundwater when the homeowner was both told and shown the changes being made.
