Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Mr. [redacted] experienced problem with his roof in 2014 and 2015, our project manager and roofing crew were very quick with the service (within a day) both times (we can provide you with receipts). On 02.20.2017 around 1pm, we have received a call from [redacted]y and she spoke with my assistant...

[redacted], Mrs. [redacted]y mentioned a problem for the same address, she asked if we changed our location and we told her that we did, we also told her that all phone numbers and email addresses are the same, she said that they have tried to contact us via email back in 2016 to inquire about a roofing leak and they haven't heard from us. That is true. We haven't received an email or a call back in 2016, we apologize for the inconvenience, emails go to the junk folder sometimes, or are not delivered for some reason, for future references we advise all our customers to follow up with a phone call to make sure that we have all requests. My assistant asked [redacted]y if she wants us to send someone to inspect the issue at their roof and she said wait for my husband to call you back. Couple of hours latter we received the complaint from Mr. [redacted].Again we apologize for the bad experience and we would love to help Mr. Quintero and his wife, so in good faith we will repair all the damages caused by the leak.

Tell us why here...This job was referred to us from a company call [redacted].[redacted] is what is called a construction management firm.  These types of services have become popular with insurance companies to help manage repairs on damaged properties and to provide vetted...

contractors to home owners. We received this referral on 4/17/2017 and proceeded to call and make an appointment with the owner to inspect the property damages, and arrange for repairs.  We set the appointment for 4/19/17 in the evening when the owner got home for work.  Upon approaching the house it was noted that the siding soffit and fascia in many areas were deteriorated and in need of some maintenance or flat out replacement. Some photos were taken at the time. After inspection, we sat down at the table to go over the estimate from the insurance company, as we are usually given a copy from [redacted].  I informed the owner [redacted] that there were quite a few code items, left out by the insurance adjuster that would need to be completed to pass inspection. I told her that it was not a problem. They could be billed to the insurance company, later in a supplemental billing with proper documentation.  We have a clause in our contract that allows us to collect supplemental payments approved by the insurance company for code items.I also told her that the Flue cap had a hole in it and was allowing water down the flue pipe and possibly down into the furnace, and it would have to be changed. In addition I told her if there was any rotted plywood it would have to be changed. I told her we could submit those two things to the insurance company for payment as well, but because they were not damaged by the storm, and would most likely be rejected by the insurance company.  This is considered neglect by them. And this would become their expense.  I pointed out in our contract, as we do with all to our cus[redacted]ers Item 6.“Replacement of deteriorated decking, fascia boards, roof jacks, ventilators, flashing, or other materials, unless otherwise stated in this contract, are not included and will be charged as extra time and material, or as agreed upon in writing”  I also told her, although not in our contract, for the fencing and tree removal, I would include it in the bill to the insurance company, so they could get the depreciation back on it to help cover more of their deductible.  She told me she needed to talk it over with her husband and get back to me. On 4/20/17 I received the signed contract back via fax. In the next few days, we proceeded to secure a City permit and ordered the material. The permit was issued 4/26/2017 and the material was delivered to the roof top on 4/28/2017.Work commenced on the roof on 5/5/2017I had dropped by to check on the roofer’s progress that day.   The roofer informed me he did not know if he could get the new side wall flashing in because of the condition of the rotted siding and it was too tight down to the deck where the shingles are attached.   The roofer also pointed out the condition of the gutters and fascia and the fact he could most likely not remove the fasteners to install the drip edge in fear of causing more damage because of the deteriorated condition. He also said he had run into some bad decking, that needed to be changed. I told him to take some pictures and go to Home depot to get some sheets, and call me for my credit card number. He bought 2 sheets of OSB board.I told the roofer to let me know if he could not do some of the items, because of the condition of the adjoining materials and we would have to use alternative methods that we have used in the past when confronted by these problems. That’s where our communication broke down, and the subject never came back up. That is my fault. The roofer completed the work on 5/6/2017The following week of 5/7/2017 I ordered the final inspection from the city.On 5/9/2017 a desk adjuster sent me an email stating that the owner had called and said there were some supplements needed. I told the adjuster, that I was working on completing the final bill with the itemized supplement request, but the roof has not been inspected by the city yet, so I was not in a big hurry. The owner called at some time between completion and the billing and asked if she needed to do anything about making payment. I told her no. I was working on the bill, and we were still waiting on final inspection. On 5/31/2017 I forwarded the final bill with the supplement request and documentation to the desk adjuster for their review. They usually want 10 business days to do this review. The amount being asked for from the insurance company was $5101.33 the original estimate from the adjuster, and $2296.14 in supplements for a total of $7397.47 I think I received another call from the owner somewhere between 6/1/2017 and 6/20/2017Again she was asking about billing and making payment.I told her the billing had been submitted but it would take the adjuster a little more time, and we were still waiting on final inspection. [redacted] building department was backed up on inspections. I told her I would collect payment from them, after the final inspection and they had received their final payment from the insurance company. On 6/20/2017 we finally received notification that the roof was inspected by the building department and had passed inspection.Somewhere around the week of 6/26/2017 I got a call from a desk adjuster and she said she had approved the insurance company to pay for everything except the replacement of the deteriorated decking and the replacement furnace flew cap. For a total of $7177.17 and was mailing out the final check. We usually allow a couple of weeks for the final check to be received before asking for payment from the owners. On 6/29/2017 I got a call from Byron at [redacted] saying the owner had called them saying there were issues with the roof, and we had not done any of the things we had asked for supplements on from the insurance company.   I told them that it was a surprise, because the owner had not communicated any problems to us directly. On 6/30/2017 [redacted] Tousignant with [redacted] called me and asked me about the supplements to the roof and if we had worked on the the fence and tree removal.  I told him no we had not, but had included it in our bill to the insurance company to help the home owner recover the depreciation.  I told him we didn’t intend to bill the owner for it. [redacted] tasked me I needed to set an appointment with the owner to look at the job and take pictures of what exactly had been done, so the bill could be adjusted before we sent it to the owner. Also so we could address any of their other complaints. I told him I would call her and set an appointment. I believe I called and left a message on 6/30/2017 I finally received a call back on either 7/5/17 or 7/6/17 from the owner. I asked why this was the first I was hearing of any problems. She said we just now started looking. I told her I would call her on Monday 7/10/2017 to set up a time that week to come out and review the items they say were not done, and what repairs they said needed to be done.I called her on Monday 7/10/2017 and we set an appointment for 7/13/2017 On 7/13/2017 I met with them at the appointed time to look at their concerns.[redacted] husband, [redacted] was there, which is the first time I had met him. We climbed up onto the roof to look at what he didn’t like.He pointed out the crooked ridge cap, some exposed nails, and the fact that some of the vents had not been painted, and he said the OSB sheeting that had been installed was not as thick as the ½” plywood he had before. He said he could feel the thickness difference under his feet through the shingles.(In fact ½” ply wood is 15/32 true thickness. 7/16 OSB, is of coarse 14/32 so there is 1/32 of an inch difference)But I told him we would change it out if that is what he wanted. There were a few things that did not get done that were billed to the insurance company, and I told [redacted] we would adjust his bill and take out the things we did not do or could not be done.I became frustrated as he continued to make false statements and fabrications about things that did not get done that were clearly sitting right in front of us,  and which he had told [redacted] and the insurance company we did not do.He then said my roofers caused all the damage to the siding soffit and fascia when I clearly knew this was not true. I had pictures of from the first day I was walking up to the house. I told him we were not going to get anywhere like this, and I would have to get [redacted] at [redacted] more involved. So I left. On the way to my next appointment I called [redacted] and told him the meeting did not go well, and I would be forwarding pictures and a revised bill to him for what actually got done to that point. On July 16th I forwarded before and after pictures to [redacted] at [redacted] and a revised bill of $5842.58 to [redacted] for work that had been approved by the insurance company and completed at this time by us. This bill including the decking and flue cap that had to be replaced. Those were the two items rejected by the insurance company because they were not storm related damage. I told them these things may be their expense up front. On July 19th [redacted] with innovation called me and said he had talked to the owners and he was to email me a list of what the owners wanted me to fix.The list was as follows:-Replacement of ridge cap to ensure it is not crooked and/or wavy-Address all shingles where nails are exposed.  This may require realigning the shingles to ensure the nail is under the upper shingle.-Ensure furnace vent boot is properly secured and sealed to prevent any water intrusion-Address any misaligned shingles (see photos sent previously)-Ensure proper thickness of roof decking is present.  PH advised that section that was replaced is not same thickness and is noticeable when walked on.  On 7/20/2017 I called the owner and arrange to make the repairs for Saturday 7/22/217I instructed the roofers to go down to the job early in front of me, and start the repairs and I would follow up later to check with the owner that everything was done to their satisfaction. The roofer told me he would do everything the owner wanted him to do.When I arrived the roofer said the owner was satisfied now.  As I walked up, I ask [redacted] if he was happy with everything.  I said lets go up and take a look. We went up onto the roof and I found a couple of shingles that still had exposed nails showing. I said to [redacted] and the roofer, don’t we still need to change these shingles out.I asked [redacted] if he wanted us to change out those shingles. He asked what we normally do. I said normally the inspector just make us seal them with calking. [redacted] told us to just seal them then.My roofer had changed out one of the pieces of OSB with plywood and then [redacted] told him not to bother with the other piece, and that he didn’t care. They asked about the siding, and I told them that the siding was tight to the deck and had soaked up a lot of water over the years and was rotted.I explained to them about what code said about siding“ Siding or exterior wall finishes on sidewalls above lower roofs should be kept 2" to 4" above theroof/wall junction.”I said perhaps a person could run a saw along the wall with and trim it up higher to where it was supposed to be by code, but we would not do it because we could cause even more damage to it and do not want to be held responsible. The owner [redacted] seemed satisfied with the explanation, and I shook [redacted]’s hand, as he asked me if [redacted] would be forwarding the final bill to him. I said I would check on it on Monday. On Monday 7/24/2017 I received an email yet again, from [redacted] at [redacted] that they had called in to complain again about the piece of OSB decking that had not been changed out and the siding.I called and left a message the same day with [redacted] about my confusion. I told him that [redacted] had told my roofer not to change out the last piece of decking, and they seemed satisfied with the explanation of the siding issue. On 7/27/2017 in the morning I again called [redacted] as he had not returned my call from Monday. He called me back that afternoon, and said he had talked to [redacted] about the decking and siding. He said, she admitted that her husband [redacted] told my roofer not to change the last piece of decking and though she wasn’t happy about the condition of the siding she accepted it. She asked [redacted] that I send the final bill so she could pay it and be done with it.I told [redacted] at innovation that to make them feel better about the rotted siding issue I would give them a $200.00 credit on the bill.On 8/1/2017 [redacted] left a message with my answering service about the final bill.I returned her call and verified if a certain email that was listed, would be alright to send it to.8/1/2017 I sent the final bill out for what had actually been done and approved by the insurance company which also included the decking and furnace cap they would be responsible for.I sent a copy to [redacted] at [redacted] as well as he had requested. On 8/2/2017 [redacted] emailed me that there was a mistake in the bill and the software had mistakenly added a charge. On 8/2 I remove the errant charge and sent the revised bill out again for work completed of $5870.18 and added a credit for the siding of 200 dollars for a total due of $5670.18The items removed from this bill that was paid to the owners by the insurance company were as follows:Fencing and tree removal.New side wall flashing as it could not be installed because of the condition of the siding.Detach and reset of the gutter fasteners, because of the poor shape the fascia and gutters were in.A split boot around the electrical mast, although purchased the owner did not want installed.Detach and reset of the satellite dish. As the satellite dish was not put back on.Everything else was done.On 8/3/2017 I received an email from the Revdex.com about yet another complaint when we were led believe this had all been mediated and settled. As stated before with the exception of the flue cap and decking, these moneys including the errant items billed to the insurance company have been paid to the owner. The owner in his complaint states that he wants a refund, when he has not paid any money yet. After doing some research on this matter, there seems to be some lien history by others on this property. At this point we have to conclude that the way the complaints were made, this is nothing more than an attempt to forestall payment for the roof, when they have already been paid by the insurance company for the work we did and more.[redacted] at [redacted] can be reached at [redacted]A+ Roofing Co.[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: He is not telling the truth at all. this is a roof he offered me. I had never heard of it before he gave me the paper work and a sample of the tpo roof. the pics I have are before and after the fact. he also said that it was a patch job not a roof replacement. this is not true at all. it was a complete replacement of the addition roofing. yes I wanted to pay in cash. that is not a issue for any business that I have ever worked with. I work at [redacted] and we take cash every day. He did a horrible job and it has no warranty at all. I now have to pay someone to remove his stuff and do it the right way. he did send me a text on 4-25-2017 admitting that he was wrong and saying sorry for everything plus dropped a check off at my work for the tub cover. I am just speechless at how he has treated myself and my partner.

She said, "give me an estimate and I will pay you cash." I don't do the kind of roof she wanted, so I did patchwork. She wanted a Warranty, I don't give a Warranty on patchwork, a repair job. The work I did was on an addition to the house. She bought the plywood and I replaced the old plywood...

with the plywood she bought. She took photos before the work. She did not take photos after. The photos she is taking about are the before photos. I did throw nails on the Jacuzzi cover and it did damage. It was a hole. I will pay for the damage of $299.00. I paid my men for the job. She has not paid me. The bill for the work is $1100.00. I have not made a profit. I want to know how to pay her the $299.00 for the damage.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I would like to get at least half of my money back to get the repair that are still needed done,  like replacing the drip edges that were nailed to the gutters , so I can get my gutters replaced  the gutter company said that has to be fixed  before I can get gutters put on.   and the roofing company I called out said there is still more work that needs done on the roof to fix all the nail holes in my roofing shingles , and my siding and install the step flashing that was never installed. they said he should have had the insurance adjuster come back out and rebid that as part of the original estimate before he even started the job,   so I think half is more then fair
Sincerely,
[redacted]
