I recently purchased a 1999 Dodge Intrepid with 71,548 miles for $4000 from Anton Hanania at A&S Auto Sales and ,Services on Memphis Ave. Cleveland Ohio. The Owner Anton Hanania claimed that he used to work for chrysler, an that if I ever had any problems with the car I should bring it to back to his shop an Anton would fix it himself. As I was looking at the car, Anton claimed he had previously worked on the '99 Dodge Intrepid. Anton Hanania said he replaced the rotors, spark plugs, timing belt, oil pump, new tires, and also new brakes. Anton Hanania seemed like a legit person, was willing to answer all my questions, and also a bonus that Anton Hanania said if I had any problems, they'd be personally fixed. (BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER, He's also very manipulative, and I'll explain exactly why!!!) My biggest mistake was singing the papers, but I did, as soon as I finished, within seconds, Anton Hanania the decided to inform me that the check engine light may come on because of the previous work he supposedly did. Anton Hanania also told me he had never taken the car for a test drive. I should have asked for my money back then, but I unfortunatly already signed the papers. The car surprisginly drove nice, for TWO DAYS, and what do you know, the check engine light came on. I called Anton Hanania first, he said to drop it off and he would look at it for me. I took it to auto zone befor dropping it off to Anton and Auto Zone said it was a slow vaper leak. I dropped it off to Anton, and he gave me a completely different answer, that it was the cam shaft sensor and an oil sensor. Anton told me to purchase the parts needed, and he would fix it, no charge, no problem! I only spent $50 on the parts. Before I drop off my car with the parts it starts making another ticking noise. When I drop it off I tell him about new noise too and he says we will look at it. Two days pass and I still had not heard anything about my car, so I called them and he seemed annoyed that I called and said your car will be ready in two days we were waiting on a part to come in. After 4 days of waiting, I finally picked up my car after he claimed he fixed the problem by installing the new parts and the noise I was hearing was the guide tentioner which he replaced as well. I drive off the lot then go figure one day later it starts makin noise again. So one last time I take car up to him and after 5 days he still dont know whats wrong with me car. He seemed annoyed every time I called up there. They never called to tell me what was going on with my car. After 4 whole days u still dont know whats wrong with it. So I took my father up there with me to pick up my car. Big mistake bc after Anton finished fast talking me and my father my dad got mad and told him how can u be a micanic and now know whats wrong with the car u just supposidly did all this work on. So I went to get me keys and Anton Snached my keys an title and said your not getting your keys or title until u sign this paper. so my father reads over paper says dont sign it call cops. anton says go ahead an call police and they will tell u same thing u need to sign paper. so after a minute my dad says sign paper danielle lets go. I should have read paper my self because the paper basically said I didn't give him enough time to look at car, and that the oil system was failing. Funny though how I take it to two different car shops who within an hr call me back and said your oil pump is shot and since u need a new oil pump u might as well put a new engine in car because once oil pump goes more things in engine could be damaged. If only I knew more about cars because if I would have known what I know now I would have never bought that car because Anton told he while I was looking at car all the things he fixed and oil pump was many part he kept repeating he fixed that said because he fixed oil pump it will last forever and if I have any problems to call him he can fix it because he used to work for chrsyler. Well if u worked for chrysler Anton u would know that the 1999 dodge intrepid's engine has a nickname, THE SLUDGE ENGINE. Like I said I feel taking advantage of because I dont know much about cars but this has been such a leaning experience.
