A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue, Inc.

My family and I lost our dog to cancer about 4 months ago and took him to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast to be put to sleep when it became too much for him. The volunteers at this rescue were some of the kindness people we have ever met, which is why we decided to adopt from a rescue shelter. We found a puppy we loved on a Second Chance Rescues website. We live in Port Saint Lucie and drove all the way to Royal Palm Beach to go visit the puppy at one of their petsmart adoption events. When we arrived, we fell in love. We waited in line for over an hour as they proceeded to ignore us and give everyone behind us service. We kept attempting to get their attention, but they would simply ignore us or give us some type of ridiculous excuse to why they weren`t helping us. When we were finally served, [redacted] women was extremely rude and treated us as though we were incompetent. She made us fill out [redacted] application we did online again, and then called the vet of our dog who had passed ** check his shot records. When she got of the phone with our former vet, she told us she could never allow us to adopt one of their animals because our late pet missed his rabies shots the year before he passed. We were devastated and infuriated. I will never again set foot in a Second Chance Rescue. The volunteers are overly obnoxious and play favorites with everyone who walks through the door. This animal rescue is a disgrace to animal shelters everywhere, particularly that of the kind Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, and I will never let anyone I know go through attempting to adopt an animal from them.
