Glen Oaks Cemetery entered into an agreement to construct a headstone for my mother and install by certain date they were paid in full and never contacted me after several attempts to call them after the install date came and left and no update on my mother’s headstone I contacted the credit card company and filed a dispute after that Glen Oaks call to say the draft was ready, when I went in and told him that it should not of taken weeks and past the date to get a draftWe then agreed on 7/16/for the headstone to be installed this date pass with any replies to my voicemails, when the next agreed date came and pass glen oaks said they would install only if I paid in cash when I refused the owner said he would grind off the top and reuse itOn May of I purchased a headstone from another business and Glen Oaks refuses to have it installed, it has been over months since our mother was buried there and they are holding her grave site hostage
I have been dealing with "Glen Oaks cemetery" in Glendale Wisconsin for over 30+ years Formerly named "Evergreen Cemetery" this cemetery continues to concern me I have tended the graves of members of our family and in August there was a shooting
at night This escalating pattern of neglect and lack of oversight now adds fear to the mixThere are no gates that are closed nightly or cemetery hours that are posted In fact, the only sign at the front entrance is covered by an overgrowth of bushes Fencing surrounding the cemetery is only spotty; some are broken Many times when cleaning family gravestones, I have seen cars parked in far eastern end of cemetery for hours I thought then this was a recipe for crime The roads within the cemetery are degraded; many older trees falling limbs are strew about for months on end; grass is mowed haphazardlyThere are no elements of order, regulations or security present: no Glendale police cars come through nor is a private security company hired as a deterrentNo lighting No camerasOverall, this cemetery is sadly neglected and now unsafe The owner should be ashamed
In April, I was in the hospital and my sister arranged with iStorage for a reduced rate for my extended health issues through the end of the first week of September for a flat rate. The manager was compassionate and helpful and offered a solution that was fair and equitable and one we thought the company would stand behind. The manager who arranged the reduced rate has now left the facility and the new management will not honor the arrangement that she had made. They had the arrangement in writing when I spoke to the property last month but now they are saying that the records reflect differently than what the previous manager had offered. If we would have known even last month that the situation had altered or was going to alter, we would have removed the RV from their facility and placed it elsewhere at a more fair rate than what they are attempting to charge. We have asked to have the issue escalated but there is no promise of a solution and they are threatening other action. They are asking for more than 4 times the original amount they told us we would be responsible for. It is arbitrary to alter the pricing regardless of the change in management and if a customer is not notified and assumes that the arrangement will be honored, what is a customer supposed to do? This facility went from being one I'd highly recommend to one that I'd publicly malign due to their ethical flexibility.
