A+ Shacklette's Computer Repair, Inc. Reviews (1)
Mr. [redacted] came to fix my computer's power supply Monday morning.(12/09/13) He said this was minor and he could fix it at my apartment in a day. I mentioned needing windows 7 repaired. After he arrived and looked at my computer he said he would have to take it overnight to get a different power supply than what he thought was needed. before he left my apartment he said he would call me back to discuss a price for repairing windows. He quoted me $125 for labor plus the power supply. I agreed. I never received a call back about the windows repair. My aunt [redacted] payed $100 towards my computer bill. I thought my new bill would be around 25. On the contrary, he arrived on wednesday with my computer in pieces, power supply unrepaired. He asked me for $245, an extra $120 than we had discussed. I asked why the bill was so much more? He explained that the power supply cost 3x more than he had expected and installed windows 7 (a $75 charge). (I looked on a few different popular websites and the average price was $25 for the same power supply.) I had no idea he would be installing windows 7 as he had never called me back to discuss a price. I tried explaining to him this was an unfair price that we had not discussed. And for the price of $245 I could have nearly replaced my entire computer. After deciding not to pay his inflated price , I asked for the pieces required to reassemble my computer. He told me he had thrown them away. When I requested a refund for my aunts $100 he refused. He left. I am stuck with my computer in pieces, unable to put it back together because he trashed the required parts! My aunt is out of her $100. I now have to buy parts that were stolen and apparently thrown away before I can reassemble my computer again. I attempted to ask him to return the pieces once more via the phone. He hung up while I was talking. What Mr. [redacted] said would be a one day job has turned into me having to wait a week for a power supply and pay for replacement parts he threw away.
