I brought an antique shade in for repair and replacement of the shade material. I was told that it would take a couple of weeks for completion of the repair. At the time that I took the shade in for repair, the clerk at the store told me to come in to get it when she was working.I received a phone call telling me that the repair was completed. It took about 2 weeks to complete the repair. I was able to go in to pick up the lamp 2 weeks after the phone call. The clerk in the store appeared nervous when I came into the store. She went to retrieve the lamp shade from the back of the store. When she returned from the back of the store, she could not locate it. She went to their file to retrieve the paperwork. The paperwork was missing from their files. The clerk appeared more nervous when she could not locate the paperwork. She was going to call her boss, the owner, to advise her that the shade was missing.The owner stated that they had looked for the shade and could not locate it. She offered to refund my money. However, due to the sentimental value of the shade, a refund is not acceptable. She suggested that I find a similar frame for them to recreate the lamp shade. Due to the age of the lamp, that was impossible.I spoke with the owner about 2 months ago, she provided me with leads on trying to locate a replacement. This search proved fruitless.When I returned to pick up the shade, I was told that they could not locate the repaired shade.
