Review: This letter is sent regarding a limo I booked for my birthday with A Special Occasion Limousine go see the monuments in DC that was a complete disappointment and I have been unable to come to satisfactory resolution with the owner of the company, **. [redacted]. On the way into the city, the driver went the wrong way down an interstate ramp even after we told him it was a wrong way and pleaded with him not to go that way. We were nearly hit broad sided by a dump truck as the limo driver performed a three point turn at the bottom of the ramp just as we were about to get on to I[redacted] the WRONG way. Three of the passengers in the limo work for the [redacted] County Sheriff's Office as 911 dispatch operators as well as EMTs and we are privy to terrible accidents and feel that incidents like this should never happen. We continued into DC anticipating seeing the cherry blossoms and the monuments - the point of the trip. During our five-hour ordeal , we did not see a single monument or make it to the tidal basin to see the cherry blossoms despite our attempts to help the driver navigate to these areas. The driver was completely incompetent and became condescending and rude when we tried to help him navigate. As the evening deteriorated into an uncomfortable fiasco due to the driver’s arrogance and incompetence, he falsely accused us of vomiting in the vehicle but he “would cover that for us .” When I contacted the company, the explanation that was offered was that they had spent too much already in gas when the company erroneously sent their driver at 9 a.m. that morning after I had confirmed with the company by phone that this was an evening reservation to tour the Washington, DC monuments was more than frustrating. That morning the driver, **. [redacted], had expressed this was not the first time “they have done that to me.” The same driver was sent back for the evening at which time he stated that he never got a chance to sleep. While the company owner advised me they did fire the driver, this incident was so egregious that I feel I should be fully reimbursed for this reservation. A very serious accident almost occurred and this is something that should not be brushed aside. I have never endured a more frightening and frustrating experience.Desired Settlement: I paid a total of $425 for this limo reservation. I requested a full refund for this experience since we didn't get to see a single monument or cherry blossom and this trip was booked and advertised as a "Cherry Blossom Tour." It would be reasonable to assume that their driver would know where he/she was going. Most importantly, I want this incident to be brought to the attention of others so to hold this company accountable for their incompetence. This ordeal could have ended tragically and I feel terrible for putting my friends in eminent danger. I put my trust in A Special Occasion Limousine to hire drivers who are proficient and they failed terribly. I have hired this company in the past and had good experiences, but I will never book again with them since I no longer trust their hiring processes or drivers so their offer of a partial discount on a future reservation is not acceptable. Review: While planning our July 2014 wedding, I searched for a limo company that would be able to accommodate our wedding party of 14. In April of 2014, I met a limo driver and we had the conversation about my wedding. The Limo driver was professional and also happened to be bilingual in Arabic/English, which is rare around here and my family is Lebanese. I asked him for his business card, so that I could call the company and request him for our special day. I did so immediately and talked to John H[redacted], the manager. I was assured that Ali, would be our limo driver for the evening of our wedding and we went over the details of what time we would need to be picked up for our wedding, and where the hotel and venue are located. Although I shopped around and knew that they were charging me far more than any other local company, I accepted for the convenience of having the limo shuttle my out-of-town guests to and from the hotel and venue and him being bilingual. I paid my deposit of $300 on May 6, 2014 to secure this. The evening before my wedding, I received a call from the company to make an additional payment of $950. I paid the $1250 and went over the details again, only to learn that limo driver no longer works there and nobody informed me, even though that was the only reason I went with them! She assured me that Doug is just as good, and being hours away from my wedding we had no choice! Our Wedding Day was a complete disaster due to this company! The driver was so late that we were all standing outside sweating for over a half hour calling the company to see where he was. He very unprofessionally blamed it on the company and said he didn't even know it was a wedding! Even better, he didn't even know how to open his own doors or trunk! Only the wedding party made it to the wedding and all of my guests who I promised would be shuttled by the limo that were already drinking had to find their own way to the wedding! They will not return my calls or answer the phone now.Desired Settlement: They broke their contract and promise, our wedding day was destroyed! All of our guests and myself were in a panic about how they will get to the venue, some never made it they were so irritated. The limo driver arrived so late causing my photographer not to have time to do special photos, there was no red carpet service, just married signs or anything they promised to me and on their website. We would like our $1250 refunded please, I will never get this day back or all the time and effort.
