Ms [redacted] replied that the lady was going to take a week or so I’ve talked to the lady across the street before and she does charge $per pants but that was just to s**rten pants not to put elastic in Since Ms [redacted] was not satisfied with my questions, she proceeded to slam her pocket book on the counter and hitting the back of our chairs and slamming the front door and yell at myself and my mother, “I want my money back! “ She was screaming so loud that I myself got really nervous and told my mom that I am calling the cops I picked up the p**ne and proceeded to call the cops and when Ms [redacted] realized that I was picking up the p**ne she decided to calm down and spoke very softly My mom has been in this business for years and never encounter anyone like Ms***, but my mom wanted to keep the peace so my mom proceeded to ask her Ms [redacted] if she wanted my mom to tighten the side down for her, she will only charge her $extra per pants, considering we normally charge our regular customers $12-$per pants just to take the sides in Ms [redacted] didn’t like that idea but she said,”fine, she will do that.” My mom asked her try the first pair on and my mom pinned Ms [redacted] and then my mom told Ms [redacted] that she needed to try it all on since my mom has to pinned all of the pants and make them right Ms [redacted] was not happy with that fact but she went into the fitting room and came out minutes and later and said that she changed her mind and she doesn’t want to do that, Ms [redacted] told my mom to take all the pins out and she will go some place else to get it fixed Just from meeting Ms [redacted] in t**se couple of **urs the day that Ms [redacted] picked up her garments, I felt that she changes her mind and mood quite quickly When she picked them up and tried on the black one she was happy, Ms [redacted] comes back demanding money because she was unsatisfied, didn’t liked the fact that my mother didn’t speak English clearly enough so she turned to me, she became very angry with me because she couldn’t give me the answers to my questions, so she yelled at me and told me to mind my business and that I wasn’t there, then she demanded a refund but my mother stood her ground and told her, “NO” and then, Ms [redacted] told my mom to fix her pants and she was willing to pay the extra $25($5per pant), then after all that work my mom did to pin the pants to Ms [redacted] satisfaction, Ms [redacted] said that she changed her mind and storm out of the s**p I believed Ms [redacted] was an unsatisfied customer because when she took the pants **me and t**ught that it was an easy job, she was mad and wanted more done for the amount that she paid Ms [redacted] is not our first rodeo w [redacted] has try to scam us into refunding them back We’ve had customers w [redacted] had paid us to hem a dress and days after picking up their dress comes back and demands a refund because we didn’t hem the dress at all but then we told that customer why do we still have the cut-off piece of fabric from you dress? My name is *** **, I am the daughter that was present when Ms***(the complainant), came into the alteration s**p on 6/05/2015. Ms*** came in on the 5th to pick up pairs of jogging pants that were cut and hemmed s**rt to look like capris. Ms*** had ask where my mother was
(w** is also a worker there), I told Ms*** that she was out running some errands. I handed Ms*** her garments and Ms*** asked me if she s**uld try it on, I told her,”Of course you can try it on, we prefer you try it on just to see **w the customer like our work!” Ms*** proceeded into the fitting room with only one pair on,(which was the black one), she came out 5-minutes later with a smile on her face and she said to me that she liked **w it fitted her. I smiled and told her that I was glad that she liked it! She seemed satisfied because she was smiling when she went towards the door. About 3-**urs later, my mom had came back from her errands when Ms*** stormed in with her capris and demanded my mother give her her money back because my mom didn’t do it right. She took me completely by surprise because she had tried on the black one early and said that she was satisfied with the outcome of the capris/pants. Since I wasn’t there when she came in to drop off the pants I let her and my mother handle the situation but then she started to yell at my mother and told my mother that she didn’t understand English and she s**uldn’t be in this business and that is when I decided to help out. I asked Ms*** what was it that she was so angry about since she just left the s**p smiling about 3-**urs ago. Ms*** said that my mother didn’t do the alteration the way that she wanted and she wanted her money back. I asked Ms*** what exactly did she wanted, since all she told my mom was that she wanted to make the really thick jogging pants into capris with elastic bands right below her knee and that was exactly what my mother gave her. Ms*** took out a poor color quality picture that was in black and white of a model with capri pants that Ms*** pointed to and said this is what I wanted. I told Ms*** that we can’t go by pictures because the models aren’t standing straight and you can’t tell if the bottom is baggy and **w the capris are cut. I also try to tell Ms*** that capris are a style that can be baggy or tight. Ms*** told me that I s**uld stay out of her and my mother’s business and Ms*** started raising her voice at my mother again. I asked Ms*** that she did not have to start yelling and that I can hear perfectly fine. I proceeded to tell Ms*** once again that capris are a style but if she wanted her jogging pants to be tight from her thighs to her knee then my mother would had to pin all of her pants for her and that would cost more then the $10/per pants that my mother charge her. Ms*** proceeded to tell me that the lady across the street was going to charge her only $8/per pants and I’ve asked Ms*** why didn’t she just go across the street if she was so cheap? Ms*** replied that the lady was going to take a week or so. I’ve talked to the lady across the street before and she does charge $per pants but that was just to s**rten pants not to put elastic in. Since Ms*** was not satisfied with my questions, she proceeded to slam her pocket book on the counter and hitting the back of our chairs and slamming the front door and yell at myself and my mother, “I want my money back! “ She was screaming so loud that I myself got really nervous and told my mom that I am calling the cops. I picked up the p**ne and proceeded to call the cops and when Ms*** realized that I was picking up the p**ne she decided to calm down and spoke very softly. My mom has been in this business for years and never encounter anyone like Ms***, but my mom wanted to keep the peace so my mom proceeded to ask her Ms*** if she wanted my mom to tighten the side down for her, she will only charge her $extra per pants, considering we normally charge our regular customers $12-$per pants just to take the sides in. Ms*** didn’t like that idea but she said,”fine, she will do that.” My mom asked her try the first pair on and my mom pinned Ms*** and then my mom told Ms*** that she needed to try it all on since my mom has to pinned all of the pants and make them right. Ms*** was not happy with that fact but she went into the fitting room and came out minutes and later and said that she changed her mind and she doesn’t want to do that, Ms*** told my mom to take all the pins out and she will go some place else to get it fixed. Just from meeting Ms*** in t**se couple of **urs the day that Ms*** picked up her garments, I felt that she changes her mind and mood quite quickly. When she picked them up and tried on the black one she was happy, Ms*** comes back demanding money because she was unsatisfied, didn’t liked the fact that my mother didn’t speak English clearly enough so she turned to me, she became very angry with me because she couldn’t give me the answers to my questions, so she yelled at me and told me to mind my business and that I wasn’t there, then she demanded a refund but my mother stood her ground and told her, “NO” and then, Ms*** told my mom to fix her pants and she was willing to pay the extra $25($5per pant), then after all that work my mom did to pin the pants to Ms*** satisfaction, Ms*** said that she changed her mind and storm out of the s**p. I believed Ms*** was an unsatisfied customer because when she took the pants **me and t**ught that it was an easy job, she was mad and wanted more done for the amount that she paid. Ms*** is not our first rodeo w** has try to scam us into refunding them back. We’ve had customers w** had paid us to hem a dress and days after picking up their dress comes back and demands a refund because we didn’t hem the dress at all but then we told that customer why do we still have the cut-off piece of fabric from you dress? I believed that myself and my mother can never be able to satisfied Ms***, therefor we will not refund her money (because the job is already done- pants hemmed to capris length with elastic), we wish Ms*** well and that she does not come back to our s**p. I reject to their response. The things the daughter wrote in the response are lies and half truths. The daughter was not there in the s**p when I dropped my pants off to have them altered, and she failed to put in the response because she wasn't there **w when I came to the s**p initially, I asked her mother if she needed to see a picture that would s**w her **w I wanted the pants to look, to which her mother replied to me (NO), that she knew exactly what I wanted, and **w I wanted the pants to look. **w can the daughter I with all **nesty say that I am trying to scam them when I paid $50 upfront for a service that I do not think I received? I am the one w** feels scammed because they make you pay for the service before they even do the work. The daughter is also lying about it taking me 3 to 4 **urs to come back to their s**p. The truth of the matter is that I came back to the s**p within 1 **ur of leaving. Upon entering the s**p, I brought with me five pictures to s**w the owner **w the altered pants were suppose to have looked. So, once again the daughter is lying because the pictures I brought with me were not black and white pictures; they were color pictures that clearly s**wed a model standing straight modeling the capris, and s**wed **w I wanted the 5 pair of jogging pants to be altered.  As soon as I told them that the pants were not done correctly, they both immediately told me that the pants could not alter the way I wanted because they said t**se particular pants were too thick. I told them both that if I had known that the pants were not going to be done to my liking that I would have never brought them there to be altered. I told them that I had already paid $50.00, and that the pants were not done to my satisfaction, and that I wanted my pants done correctly. The daughter kept trying to tell me that they could not do it, and I told the daughter that I had asked her mother when I brought the pants in if she needed me to s**w her a picture so that she would know exactly what I wanted, and **w the mother reassured me that she did not because she knew exactly **w I wanted the pants to look. I kept telling the daughter that she was not there when I dropped the pants off, so she really s**uld not be commenting about what took place because she wasn't there. I kept saying to the both of them that I just wanted my pants fixed, and they kept trying to tell me that they could not do what I was requesting. After the repeated back and forth, I began to become irritated because they were upsetting me and making my blood pressure go up. So, I told them again that I just wanted to have my pants fixed to my liking, and asked them repeatedly **w could that be done. Then, the mother said to me that they could do it but that it would cost me $5.00 more per pant for a total of $25.00. I said fine, and they told me that I would need to try on the pants so that they could be pinned. I proceeded to go try on one pair of pants, but while the mother began pinning the pants , I began thinking to myself why am I having to pay $25 more to have them fix the pants the way that I wanted when they said that the pants could not be fixed the way I wanted, and then changed their stance, and said they could do it if I paid them more money.  This angered me, and I told the mother to take the pins out, that I was not going to pay them anymore money when I had already paid them $50, and didn't get what I asked for. The daughter is a liar, and not telling the truth because I never touched either of the back of their chairs. The mother told me to take my purse with me to the dressing room, and I said I plan on doing so. The daughter does not know what she is talking about when she says, " I am a unsatisfied customer because I took the pants **me and t**ught it was an easy job." **w is cutting the bottom portion of the pants off, and sewing an elastic band around the hem; and mind you, not a straight stitch as their name implies, an easy job? I could have done that myself, but I t**ught the work I was needinfg to have done would require taking measurements to thin the pants leg down from a jogging sweat pant to a capris, and that is the only reason why I took the pants to their s**p to be altered, and that is not what I got. The leg and knee section of the pants are baggy, and the pant's are ill fitting, and are not flattering to my figure. The daughter one again is a liar because if I was satisfied with **w the pants looked and fit on me, I would have never brought them back to their s**p, on the same day, within 1 **ur of me picking them up to voice my complaint. So, the daughter is lying about my being pleased with the alterations I received. I hate liars, and the daughter is doing nothing in their response but telling lies, and half-truths, and s**uld be ashamed of herself. The one thing the daughter is telling the truth about, and that is that I did say to them both that her mother does not speak good English, and that clearly she did not understand me when I told her **w I wanted my pants to look. That is why I kept asking her mother repeatedly if she wanted me to s**w her a picture before she started the work, so she would know exactly **w the pants s**uld look; to which she kept replying to me that she didn't need to see a picture because she knew exactly what I wanted. **wever, I agree that the daughter is telling the truth when she says "this isn't their first rodeo" because I truly believe she knows that they have ripped off plenty of other customers, and that I am not the first customer they have ripped off. That is why they make you pay first the work is done, and before the service is completed, and not after you pick up the items because they know they would never get paid for the sloppy, incomplete and unacceptable service they perform. My initial dealings was with the mother, but it is the daughter w** I had no initial contact with w** is the one responding to this complaint. Why isn't the mother responding to the complaint? As we see it is the daughter w** is the one doing all the talking? The reason I think is because the daughter is the one w** speaks English, and not the mother. The mother does not speak good English, nor does she understand English very well but she is running a business where patron's coming in to have a service performed speak the English language, and do not understand their foreign language. The daughter was not there when I initially took my pants in to have them altered, and she was not witness to any of the discussion between her mother and I on the day I took my pants in to be altered. She was no there to hear when I explained to her mother what I wanted to have done, so she s**uld not be responding to this complaint, and anything she writes in the response s**uld be null and void for that very reason. The response s**uld come from the mother since the mother is the one I had initial contact with. That is the very reason why I got so upset the day I took my pants back to voice my complaint because the daughter as the one w** kept wanting to interject when she wasn't there when I initially took my pants in to be altered. She did then, like she is continuing to do now, and that is keep trying to speak on what happened when she was not there initially. The only thing she can speak of is when I picked up my pants. She cannot speak to or respond to anything that took place between her mother on the day that I took my pants in to be altered. She was not there when I expressed to her mother what I wanted to have done to my pants, nor was she there to hear her mother reply back to me reassuring me that she knew exactly what I wanted. I did not pay the daughter $50 to have my pants altered, I paid her mother, and my receipt came from the mother, and not the daughter. I feel that the daughter outright lying about some of the things in the response, and I feel that she needs to stay out of this complaint, and let her mother respond. But, she doesn't seem to want to do that because she well knows that her mother does not understand nor speak good English, and that is the sole reason why I did not get what I asked her mother for in the first place. The daughter called me a scammer, I am not trying to scam anyone, I paid upfront, and immediately upon request, the amount the mother charged me, and that was $50. I am not happy with the service I received, and the reason I filed this complaint was because they were the ones w** wanted to scam me out of another $25.  After I realized what they were trying to do, I declined their offer of paying $25 more to get what I w**le-heartedly believed I s**uld have received the first time after paying them $50. If the mother could not do what I was requesting of her, then she s**uld have just told me so, before making me pay her upfront $50, for a service she well knew she did not know **w to do. I was told she knew what I wanted, and she made me pay upfront before she had even started the work, and when I told them that the work was not what I had requested, they offered me no other options other than to pay them more money. I do not feel that this is **w a reputable business s**uld operate in The United States of America. I feel the mother and her daughter were not concerned with satisfying me as a paying customer. The mother's only  concern, and what she clearly understood well was taking my money, and then trying to get more money out of me when I attempted to voice my displeasure with the service I had received. The mother and her daughter are dis**nest people, and they are the true scam artists in all of this.  They don't have to worry, I would never in a million years do business with them again, nor do I, or will I ever recommend them to anyone else. A business like this s**uld not be in business, and **w they were able to do so for 14 years is beyond me. Other people may have let them get away what they were doing wit**ut saying anything, but I just cannot sit idly by , and let them think this was right. That is why I feel compelled to speak out against businesses such as this, and let others know about their bad businesses practices.
