Dear [redacted]:This is a response to [redacted] complains to against A Street Dental Clinic:[redacted] came in for a consultation on June 3, 2013 for sensitiivity on tooth #19 which had a defective filling.  Also there was exposed dentin caused by bruxism and worn out enamel.  I recommend...

filling on that tooth and tooth #18 to replace silver filling with tooth color fillings.  Pt accepted treatment.  Our office did not charge her for the consultation.  On June 4, 2013, [redacted] came in for the fillings on tooth #18 and 19 which she had payed for in full.  However, she also had a comprehensive exam and full mouth x-ray done on that day.  Our normal fee for the exam and x-ray at that time was $180, but we had a promotion for $100 dollars.  Either [redacted] or her mom, a long time patient at our office, had consented to the exam and x-ray.  That's where the $100 balance come from, not from charging her for the consultation.  It's unfortunate that our office had to send her bill to collection. However, we had repeated sent bills (6 times) to [redacted] without any response for the past year because we did not have her updated address or phone number and not knowing that she had moved or lived in Australia.  We did not have anyway of contacting her.  We are not a company that sends our clients to collection quickly.  We try to make sure that we give our patients amble time to response or work out an agreement plans with us.  We only use a collection service as a last resort when patients do not response to our requestsfor payment.  I do regret that her balance was send to collection because she and her parents were good patients at our office.
