A Sun State Trees, Inc. Reviews (3)

We had Sun State out to do some tree removal, one was a HUGE oak and there were a fer other smaller trees as well I was a big suspect as the online reveiws were not glowing throughout It goes to show that you cannot trust all the negative reveiws I was referred to them by a neighbor and had called several other companies as well
*** *** was our salesman and he was great He was very honest and worked with us from start to finish ***, ***, and the entire crew were fantastic I thought the work was going to take several days, but they worked quickly, safely,
I would highly recommend them to anyone

I contacted Sun State Trees in June of 2014 for treework at my Apopka residence. They came to my property on 6/13/14 in the rain for $500.00 worth of tree work (including removing about 6 trees). Other family members were home and saw the tree removed but upon my drive up to my house, I see oil and leaves in the curb/gutter. As I look closer, I see it's several huge dark oil spills along the roadway/curb in front my property. I took pictures and contacted them. It was after hours so I had to wait until the next day. Family member on site while they work said that they had to rush out for a job in Oviedo. There was a large amount of debris all over the yard with no attempt to clean it up. The next day, I call and they said that they would have someone come out because apparently it was a hydralic oil spill. I shared that they did not indicate this to me and that they did not try to contain the spill by putting cat litter down so that the oil run off would not go into the storm system. She indicated to me that the trucks don't have cat litter. The next day, someone came out with a rake and raked leaves in the oil spill and used bleach with a pressure washer to clean the oil out of the road and gutters (Wow! No concern for the environment). I took more pictures. I called Orange County, showed them the pictures and they agreed that there was an EPA concern. Orange County then came out to do what they could to clean up the spill but by this time, the sun and humidity had "baked" the spill into a black tar that could only be improved over time. The entire time the owner kept calling me for payment. When I told him I would pay them even though they should go out of business. He tried to get loud but I killed that by hanging up in his face. I mailed them a money order since services were renedered with a note "good bye to bad service". He called me two more times after I mailed the MO asking about payment. I told him to contact his front desk as it was mailed and stop harrassing me since he didn't care to follow up on my concerns. Orange County mailed them a letter indicating that they should practice proper EPA standards in regards to hydraulic spills.

This business needs to also practice proper customer service standards including accountability and follow up. A Z- rating is deserved by this company.

Worse tree company I've ever worked w/. The only good point was the stump grinding. That gentlemen was courteous.

If could attach the pictures to this review I would.

We had a large laurel oak tree removed from our yard. We were told that they would use a bucket with a crane, stump grind and remove debris. On the day they came to perform the work, they had a dead battery on the vehicle that had the crane. They said that it would take quite a while to get fixed and they assured me they would be able to remove the tree without the crane and without damage. It took them a while, but they brought the tree down. They did leave a rather large dent in our yard, from the tree falling and when they ground the stump (just a surface grind), they took 5 jasmine plants with it. I called the sales representative, and he assured me the yard would be fine and he would be dropping by the jasmine plants. We had this removed on 1/6/16. It is 8/10/16, and we still do not have the replacement jasmine!. Several phone calls about the plants have been made, and we have still yet to receive them. We paid the bill in full which was $1535. It saddens me that a big company like this, can't seem to replace a few plants that they damaged after not completing the job as described. I would think a company would try to hold up what they promised! Extremely disappointed to not get a simple result, especially after they were not able to remove the tree with a crane, which inevitably damaged our yard!
