A & T Auto and Truck Service Reviews (1)
I purchased rotors and pads for my [redacted] in advance and then called A&T Auto to see what the labor cost would be to have my brakes installed, I was quoted $65.00. I made an appointment to have my car repaired on 6/01/2013, Friday. I received a call/message from [redacted] who stated that the rotors that I prepurchased did not fit my car, so he would have to order new ones. I asked about the cost and agreed to the price, I asked [redacted] to put the rotors that were prepurchased in addition to the ones that would be coming off of my car (old ones) so that they could be compared by me and the shop that I purchased them from. He stated that he would put all 4 rotors in my trunk when I pick up the car. I paid for my car's repair of $174.59 on 6/02/2013 over the phone because I could not make it to A&T before the close of business on this day. When I picked up my car I noticed that there was still a grinding noise in my front brake area, I did research to see if this was normal, and per [redacted], it is noted that sometimes new brakes need to be driven on for approximately a week to clear away the first layer of surface protectant. After I drove the car for a week I noticed that the sound had not dissipated, I also decided to take my prepurchased rotors back for a refund and when I went to retrieve them from the trunk I noticed that there was only 2 rotors (when there was supposed to be the prepurchased 2, as well as the 2 that came off of the car) in the car, which was completely caked up with rust. I then called [redacted] at AT on 6/15/2013, and was told that she doesn't know what happened and why the all of the rotors that I requested where not put in the car. I told her that I wanted all of my rotors all 4, this included the 2 prepurchased as well as the 2 that came off of the car. She stated that she would get back in touch with me after she spoke to [redacted] the mechanic. I did not get a return call from A&T, and had a great deal of trouble reaching them in the following weeks because they very seldom answer the business phone. I finally went to the shop after having to take a day off just to get in touch with someone, and spoke to [redacted] the owner and told him what was going on, he stated that he made sure that the prepurchased rotors were put back in my trunk, and I replied that they hadn't because the ones in my trunk were rusted. He stated that this was indeed the prepurchased rotors and the rust was on the rotors because he took off a coating before he initially tried them on my car and found out that they do not work. I replied to him that I did not find this to be true, and unfathomable. I questioned him as to how could the brand new rotors that I purchased have rust on them. He once again told me the same story, and I said to him, "How am I going to get my refund for these prepurchased rotors that now have rust on them, they are not in the condition in which I purchased them or in the condition that I gave them to you (A&T) to repair my car. He stated that he would clean them up so I could take them back for a refund. Several times in between the meeting with [redacted] the owner, when he assured me that he would clean my rotors up and put them back to the original state that they were in when I purchased and gave to him to repair my brakes. I have been avoided in great detail. They are not returning my calls and/or returning my brand new rotors back to me in the same original condition that I gave them to AT for repair. In addition to, I took my car back to AT for the complaint about the grinding noise that I hear in the brakes after their installation, and when I picked up my car I still have the grinding noise. It appears that they did not do anything to repair the grinding noise after I paid them for their installation services. I am not satisfied with this business at all.
