Review: My husband and I purchased a van from the owner of this business. I feel we were misled into this sale. While discussing this vehicle with [redacted] I asked him at least 3 times if the van would pass PA inspection. He answered each time that it should. He added it is a FL vehicle in good shape and was inspected through 9/30/2013. He then went into detail about how he used to work on vehicles and is knowledgable having first hand experience with what is required to passs a PA inspection. Being new to the state my husband and I had no idea what was involded to pass inspection. [redacted] went through a short list and then even got down and shining a flashlight into the wheel well checking the front brakes stating they were at about 60%. My husband then asked if [redacted] he checked the vehicle. He replied that he had someone check it. When asked if he add other vehicles other than what's on the lot he stated he had vehicles at home that weren't ready implying vehicles are checked before sale. The van did not pass inspection today. List of needed repairs: front shocks, muffler, valve cover, sway bar, front brakes including rotors, brake hoses, tires and brake light totaling around 1800.00. The damage to the sway bar is severe enough that it could actually ended in fatality if it cracked through. In addition it was made clear at the inspection station that these damages were not recent and it was questionable if the inspection sticker on the van is legitimate. We will be intitiating an investigation into the legitimacy of the inspection sticker with the proper authorities.Desired Settlement: My husband and I want to be reimbursed for the van and the money paid to register this vehicle that was sold in good faith with an understanding it was road worthy.

Dear Revdex.com,

Thank you for your letter concerning vehicle vin no. [redacted].

This vehicle was taken in trade and was originally from Florida. It is also 22 years old and was sold for

$1150. I had driven the vehicle myself a couple times, once over 50 miles. Everything seemed to

operate fine, no pulling, shimmying or shaking, no pulsing of rotors, no undue leaning on turns, and no

unusual exhaust noise.

I did explain to the purchasers what it took to get a vehicle inspected in Pa, and did take a light and look

at the front brakes which appeared to be about 60%, I never stated that I had the vehicle checked out

by someone else as I did not.

The inspection station where the vehicle was taken is noted for high pricing, although they do good

work.

The statement about the sway bar said lf.it cracked through it could cause a fatality may be true, but it

was not cracked through, and I had no knowledge it was cracked.

Upon the purchasers letting me know of the problem I asked to see the vehicle myself, they seemed

very reluctant and questioned me a couple times as to why I wanted to see it.

The purchaser is a mechanic at a local motorcycle shop and could have checked the vehicle.

I finally did get them to agree to meet with me. I offered to give them $650 which they took, did not

even say thank you and left.

Yours truly,

Business
