Regards,
*** *** Its stated in there response that "the only issue shown in the diagnostics (via the vehicles electric control module) was a problem with the engine valves" " We let the customer know that this was the only issue showing..." "per customers request, after explaining this, we did this repair along with an engine tune up."I disagree because they failed to explain to me that it was an "engine" valve problem and because I took it there for a transmission issue I thought it was a valve in transmission that was getting repairedOnce again they were very vague in explaining what they were going to be doing but I went with what they suggested because I trusted they knew what they were doing and were honest. I also did not just leave it sitting at shop for a month awaiting FREE repairsDuring that month I was adiment on the fact that I wanted and needed my vehicle back as soon as possible considering having only one vehicle between my husband and I was and still is very inconvientIt took them a month to tell me what they thought may be wrong (never a definate) at which point I was fed up and went and retrieved my vehicle because I lost trust in there ablilty to properly determine what was wrong

In response to complaint ID ***We received the customer’s vehicle with the complaint that the transmission overheat light was coming on and the vehicle not movingThe only issue shown in the diagnostics (via the vehicle’s electronic control module) was a problem with the engine valvesThis
can cause the problems which the customer was experiencingWe let the customer know that this was the only issue showing, but that they can be other issues as well, which cannot be diagnosed until this issue is repairedPer the customer’s request, and after explaining this, we did this repair along with an engine tune up(Customer states that a transmission fluid change should have been done as part of an engine tune up, which is never part of a standard engine tune up, and was not requested or paid for by the customer.) We completed the work she requested then test drove the vehicle with no issuesEverything worked fineAt a later point the customer called back saying she was experiencing issues, so we asked her to bring it in, and we consulted the manufacturerThey asked us to take it to the dealer service department, where they diagnosed a blocked transmission cooler, causing the transmission issuesBased on the dealer’s diagnosis, what is needed is to replace the transmission cooler and to change the transmission fluid, which deteriorated due to the overheatingWe communicated this to the customer, and offered to perform the workCustomer left the vehicle here for about a month, wanting free repairsWe asked her to take it to the dealer if she didn’t want the work done here, but that we cannot buy parts for her and do work for freeWe did not charge her storage, which is standard for a vehicle that sits here or at any repair facility other than to have repairs doneAll of our work is covered by warranty, but we cannot offer repairs for free unless it is a warranty repair

Mr. [redacted] issue is with the extended service company [redacted], not with A-1 Transmissions. Being that he authorized us to do the work which they covered, we cannot and did not do additional work. On the first visit, we replaced the brake line and 2 wheel cylinders.  Although the vacuum...

booster and master cylinder needed replacement, this was not authorized by [redacted]. Again, Mr. [redacted] was aware of this but only authorized us to do the work which [redacted] approved. On the second visit, after going back and forth several times with [redacted], we did get them to approve replacing the vacuum booster and master cylinder. This was considered by [redacted] to be a new and separate repair, so it was of course subject to a new and separate deductible. [redacted]’s extended service contract does not call for one deductible ever, it is per repair. When he dropped the vehicle off the second time, he was out of the country for at least a week. We held his vehicle for over a week after it was completed.   We did test drive the vehicle, and the reason the master cylinder was left in it was that he requested it, even though there was a core charge which he did not pay

Customer brought her vehicle in on March 9 to have the transmission rebuilt, which we did. Our warranty covers repairs which we did, it is not an entire vehicle warranty. On April 20th customer returned, needing a left front axle shaft. We did that job for her (replaced the axle). This is not part...

of the transmission, therefore is not covered under the transmission warranty.A few days later the customer returned with engine problems, due to a timing chain needing replacement. The timing chain is part of the engine, not part of the transmission, and therefore not covered under the transmission warranty. The vehicle is a 2004 with over 130,000 miles, and it is unreasonable to expect the warranty on a transmission rebuild to be a full-vehicle bumper to bumper warranty, which we obviously don't offer.A warranty covers the specific repair, and warrants that if there were a defect in the materials or workmanship for that repair it would be fixed. No warranty, including ours, offers a refund, especially if the vehicle later needs unrelated repairs.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
[redacted] A1 Transmission's response has nothing to do with the fact that 267 miles were put on my truck during the 3 weeks they had it. Nor do they address the issues of; a half full soda can left in vehicle, grease and dirt on steering wheel, brake fluid and/or transmission fluid all over the bed liner and leaving the mirrors, seat and radio adjustments to fit whomever was using it. Nor do they address the fact that the gas tank was 'dead' empty. I left the truck with a 3/4 Full tank of gas. Yes, I was out of the country for a week. What does that have to do with anything? I brought the truck to A1 Transmission the Monday after I returned home and they kept it for 3 weeks from the date I left it with them. 3 full weeks to put a new master brake cylinder and vacuum booster in it. Normally a 4 hour job. I was not out of the country during those 3 weeks. My being out of the country or anywhere else has nothing to do with any of this time frame.
