I just received your letter regarding a complaint from one of our customers.I spoke with Rob about this encounter and the issues surrounding it and it appears that we and our customer are pretty far apart on this issue.Rob engaged in this service call and learned from the outset from the customer [redacted] that the tub unit was recently replaced by a handy man company ' [redacted] the Handyman' and that another plumber had looked at the leak issue and would not attempt the job as it could not be determined where it was leaking.Rob and A-Team Plumbing entered into the work with the best intent to resolve the leak and make small incremental efforts to repair areas that were suspected of leakingWe did so over the course of a month and was patient in our search for the leak and to help the client. In the customers complaint I noticed she didn't mention these thingsShe makes it sound like she was taken advantage of which could not be further from the truth. In her summary of the complaint she said the job was only a caulking job, but caulk does not stop leaking pipesAnd if she really thought it only needed caulk she would have called the handyman back, not a plumber. The work was being performed on a rental unit and the parts and workmanship to this point that were used were very cheap and the result was a leak. The claim that Rob presented her with a picture that was not from her unit, and from a different unit is falseWe hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards and would never engage in this type of behavior. The client is clearly angry that the leak exists and is taking it out on usShe has a problem in her plumbing system in that unit and unfortunately we could not find itThese problems are hard to find as it is between the floors on an upstairs unit and a downstairs unit.We plan to pursue the collection of the bill for this month long effort in small claims courtThe bill is $of which $was parts installed to replaced existing plumbing with the remaining dollars are for labor and sales tax.If you need me to post this online please send me a link or something to do soOr if this email works for you to respond please let me know. Thanks,

Rob L***A team plumbing is not in business no more sorry

Rob and A-Team Plumbing and whoever this Bill with no last name is that responded to my complaint is not telling the truth about many issuesRob promised on a speakerphone in front of my partner that he personally would do the remainder of the plumbing work in my house since his workers were clueless about the causeI visited the house twice after this and Rob was nowhere in sight yet his workers continued to perform the job. My renters stated Rob was not on the job as promisedWhen confronted with this he informed me his father-in-law had cancer and he was not able to run his businessHe used that excuse many times with each mistake that was madeHe kept apologizing and saying that he was "in a funk" over his father-in-law and that he personally would go up and talk to his workers about what was going onI have since realized that when Rob sent photos of ceiling plumbing he originally claimed needed to be replaced he used photos of someone else's houseHe additionally sent photos of someone else's tub unit and claimed they too were mine when in fact they were notIn summary...that means that times Rob texted me photos of someone else's plumbing woes and fraudulently represented them to be mine in order to perform unnecessary work and increase the billRob NEVER expected me to leave my job and meet him on the jobsite to be shown the plumbing problems in the photosI knew the photos were not my tub unit and I confronted him on itIt was at that time that he realized he had been caught in an unethical lie and he lost his cool, told me off and stormed out of the houseIt was not until my partner and I personally stood on a ladder, removed the ceiling tiles and saw the plumbing in the house ceiling that we realized those photos were also fraudulentMy renters informed me that the following day after he realized I had turned him into the Revdex.com that he called "them" not me and apologizedHe told them he made a mistake and had sent photos of someone else's plumbing problemsIt seems strange that to my face he continually denied the photos and it was unprofessional of him to contact my rentersI hired him to do the work not the renters living in my unitWhat he did was unethical and should be illegal for a licensed plumbing company to falsify photos and represent them to an owner as "their" plumbing problems when in fact they were photos of someone else's house altogetherFraud is a punishable offense in the state of OhioIt is not true that "*** the Handyman" worked on my plumbing before RobIt was ***'s Home Improvements who happens to be an acquaintance of Rob's and has worked with him on multiple other jobs When I informed ***'s Home Improvements of the comments Rob made about his workmanship, *** confronted him in a restaurant and Rob denied saying what he didRob knows fully who worked on my house prior to him and once again he is lyingIt is additionally a lie that "anyone" refused to work on the job previously to him....I called Rob because it was a plumbing leak and Rob was a plumber, or should I say Rob "says" he is a plumber?
Yes...in fact it was only a simple caulking job and shouldn't a licensed plumber see that before saying "all" of the plumbing in both ceilings between the first floor and the second floor on both sides of the duplex needed to be replaced, before he then said it was not that but simply pipes sweating so profusely that water came through the tiles, that he replaced parts of the ceiling plumbing but not the copper pipes he said needed to be replaced, that I needed new hot water tanks because of their age even though they were working fine, that the plumbing behind one of the pedestal sinks needed to be replaced, that the entire newly installed tub unit needed to be removed and all of the plumbing behind it replaced, that the drain unit was reinstalled backwards by "his" men and had to be removed and reinstalled again, that the drain unit now needed to be caulked, that the backside of the tub then needed to be caulked, that a Beauty Ring needed to be placed around the unit once they had unnecessarily removed it then couldn't buy it at the local hardware store and just left it off, and finally that there was a 6" gap between the tub and the surround caused by the age of the house and settling and that needed to be filled...AND IT STILL LEAKED AFTER ALL OF THISAnd each of these issues were on separate days and additional trips to the house
It is my belief that Rob did his best to turn a simple caulking job into an $and more job if I had not stopped the circus at that pointHe additionally had no clue how to fix the leak and did not perform the job he was hired to do
He was told from the gthat a Metropolitan Housing (HUD) inspection was scheduled and the leak needed to be repaired before thatThe leak was not repaired before the inspectionThe leak was NEVER repaired by RobWhen I talked to Rob about the insanity of the $bill, the length of time it had taken, the fact that he didn't return to the rental for days and days until I bugged him about it, because it appeared he experimented on everything in the house, he said "Just forget it...You need the money more than I do." I went ahead and mailed him the $anyway just to be rid of him but before he cashed it the leak returned againI called my bank and stopped payment on the checkI went to the house myself...ran water and tested all of the plumbing on both sides of the unit and found the problem to be in the on/off switch of one tub/shower fixture. ***'s Home Improvements removed the panel, tightened a screw, caulked it and repaired the leakIt took minutesIt is my opinion that a plumbing company that fraudulently falsifies records and uses plumbing photos from another job in order to obtain work should lose their licenseFraud is illegal in the state of Ohio
On top of this, his workers damaged one of the sliding glass doors on the shower unit in the process of taking them needlessly on and offIf he takes me to small claims court I will countersue for the damage done to my $shower unit and bring my partner, renters, and ***'s Home Improvements to court to testify on my behalfI have the deceitful photos he mailed claiming to be my house that were not and witnesses claiming what he said is not trueI hired him to fix a leak and he admits in his statement that he was unable to do thatFor that matter, I owe him nothingIf he takes me to small claims court and I'm forced to countersue him for damages and he does not pay, I will place a construction lien on his business

Rob L[redacted]A team plumbing is not in business no more sorry

A-Team Plumbing is awesome! They have done multiple jobs for me at multiple locations and have done the job right, on-time and at a reasonable expense every time. Highly recommend! He has even done a job for my sister in Columbus!

I've had A-Team Plumbing do a number of jobs for me. This includes work with replacing toilets, kitchen refurbishment and the creation of a new downstairs bathroom. My experience has always been the same. They are on-time, extremely reliable, attentive to detail and honest. I would recommend this business to anyone in the Athens county area in need of large or small plumbing projects.
