To whom it may concern,[redacted] and her friends father that actually work in another shop brought her car complaining that he had put an after market stereo in her car and after that the lights don't come on. Car has no low beams or high beams or signals. She told me after her friends father...

installed her stereo that's when the light did not work again and she was mad at him and at her friend. she did not mention that in her letter to you about that. We gave her an estimate at $79.99 to check and give her an estimate. I told her that he might of wired the stereo to some PCM power or light module somewhere. She told me that even if I had to take the stereo completely out I don't care. Just restore my lights. So we took all dash front off and uncovered all the wiring and found that the light switch on dash was no good and there was no signal coming out of the control module did not ground the lights when switch was turned on. This system works on a ground bases not power. We called her and told her to come down, her and her husband so I can show them what's going on at [redacted] 4:08 pm and gave her husband an estimate for the light switch and module are bad, but after we disconnect the wires wired to it and return spliced wires together first then we go from there. The estimate was $398.60 for switch and module $414.97 labor + $79.99 diagnostics total is = $893.56 and no guarantee of stereo or anything else to work or not. Her husband told me I will call her and tell her and I will let you know. After like an hour her husband came to shop and we showed him what we are doing he took lot's of pictures and called his wife to send her the pictures of the spaghetti wire mix behind the stereo. He told me that her friends father did this wiring for her, then he left. After that day apparently they had an argument with her father had done installing stereo because her friend and her father came to shop to se what's going on. He told me he is not a technician he does not know about this kind of work that's why he left it alone and could not fix it. That day she told her husband to call me and tell me to do the work. 4/9/16 at 4:23 pm when I called him to find out he told me go ahead and do it. When we replaced the head light switch and relay that tested all so bad. We took and rewired all the wires to original Coller wires. Signals started working, emergency's started working but we had no lights. The module started working good now but the lights will not come on. After getting the signal from module and relay we found out that the signal unit is burnt shorted. So instead of replacing PCM

Review: I PICKED MY CAR UP FROM BEST BUY ON THURSDAY AFTER THEY FINISHED PUTTING IN MY DECK AND TUNING ALL MY SPEAKERS, AMPS AND SUBS. I THEN BROUGHT IT INTO A TECH FRIDAY TO HAVE MY LIGHTS AND SIGNALS FIXED. I WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE OF 79.99 TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. I WAS THEN TOLD PART OF MY MODULE WAS BURNT OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. mY HUSBAND WA THEN GIVEN AN ESTIMATE AROUND $700.00. MY HUSBAND LATER GOT A PHONE CALL STATING IT WOULD BE CLOSER TO $1,000.00. HE WAS GOING TO HAVE TO REWIRE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. HE THEN STATED WE NEEDED TO GO PUT MONEY DOWN. I THEN WENT AND PUT $400.00 DOWN. HE STATED IT WOULD BE READY IN A FEW DAYS. I GOT A CALL FROM HIM, HE LEFT NO MESSAGE SO I CALLED BACK SEVERAL TIMES WHILE AT WORK. NO ANSWER. I THEN HAD MY SON GO THERE TO FIND OUT WHY HE HAD CALLED. MY SON CALLED ME & TOLD ME THE CAR WAS READY AND THE PRICE WAS $1,296.01. THIS WAS NOT A PRICE I AGREED ON % I WAS NOT ABLE TO LEAVE WORK AND HE WAS STILL NOT ANSWERING THE PHONE. SO I SENT SOMEONE DOWN THERE SO I COULD SPEAK WITH HIM. HE THEN STATED THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM WAS NOT THE ACTUAL PROBLEM AND IT COST MORE TO SWITCH OUT THE BLINKER SWITCH AND LIGHT SWITCH. I TOLD HIM I DID NOT OKAY THIS AND WHERE DID HE WANT ME TO COME UP WITH AN EXTRA $300.00. HE STATED HE COULD TAKE IT OUT AND WE WOULD GO BACK TO THE $1,000 THAT WAS AGREED ON. I THEN ASKED HI WHAT DID I PAY $1,000 FOR. HIS RESPONSE WAS THE REWIRING OF YOUR CAR. AFTER GOING BACK & FOURTH MY FRIEND PAID $600.00 MORE TO EQUAL THE $1,000.00 AND HE DID NOT TAKE ANYTHING OUT. THE NEXT DAY I LOOKED AT MY CAR AND THE THE HAZARD LIGHT BUTTON IS PUSHED IN, THE CAR READS HIGH BEAM OUT, ONLY 1 SPEAKER WORKS AND THE DOOR PANEL IS BROKEN. WHEN ASKED HIM ABOUT IT. HE STATED WELL YOUR LIGHTS ARE FIXED THAT'S WHAT YOU WANTED ME TO FIX. AFTER GOING BACK & FOURTH HE STATED TO BRING THE CAR BACK NEXT MORNING HE WOULD FIX THE HAZARDS AND GLUE THE DOOR AS WELL AS MAKE AN APT TO FIX MY STEREO. NEXT MORNING HE WAS NOT OPEN AND I WAITED ALL WEEK FOR AN APT THAT NEVER HAPPENED.Desired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE MY MONEY BACK. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE RETURNING TO HIM AS HE HAS DONE MORE DAMAGE TO MY CAR AND HIS SOLUTION IS GLUE AND A FRIEND COULD FIX MY STEREO. ALSO HE FIXED THE LIGHTS BUT MY HIGH BEAMS FLASH THEN THE CAR INDICATES THAT THE HIGH BEAM IS OUT. HE SHOULD HAVE NEVER REWIRED MY CAR IF HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING. IT IS GOING TO COST ME MONEY TO FIX WHAT HE DID WRONG. ALSO MY CAR USE TO LOCK AND ROLL UP WINDOWS ON ITS ON AFTER 60 SECONDS. IT NO LONGER DOES THAT....... Updated Information from Consumer: My blinker no longer works all the time. Sometimes I try to signal and nothing happens other times it works. If I need to I can also send best buy info on my appointment that fixed my stereo the day before I dropped it off at a tech auto repair at 1901 Prescott Rd 209-577-8569

I am rejecting this response because: I am attaching a copy pf the email confirmation and shows that I had an apt to get my stereo put in the day before I dropped it at the shop. I am also attaching a picture of the current miles that shows the car reads high beam out. My high beam does work but something is still wrong if the computer does not register that information. The blinker does work most the time now but not always. I brought my car for it to be fixed not to have more problems. [redacted] locked his keys in my car due to the automatic windows rolling up and car locking. The car no longer has this function. I just want my car fixed the way it should be. I want the buttons flesh with the dash, my car to lock like ot use to, the speakers and amps to work, the computer to recognize the high beams work and for the blinkers to always work. I paid a 1,000 to have my car fixed not to have more problems. My friends dad is a mechanic and the only reason he did not do the work was because he was busy that week and I needed it completed. [redacted] did call but only leaving one message and never answering the phone calls. I can print out a phone history if need be. He told me he could fix my car but he added more problems.
