In response to this complaintThe technician that came out has been doing service for over years, when he arrived the furnace was not workingHe found the volt transformer was not working and burned out, it had volts to it and no voltage coming outHe replaced the transformer and found
that the volt fuse was blown out, he replaced the fuse and it blew out againHe attempted to find the problem or short by disconnecting different volt wires from the board and still blew out more fusesThis indicates there was a short that was most likely in the control board, after being on site for hours he made the appropriate recommendations for what was happening with the fuses and systemFor another company to have come out and to have gotten it working a few things could have happened, the other company put in a lot bigger fuse than what is specified by the manufacturer which is only a bandage and not safe, or they located a short somewhere that we missed and fixed it or the short could have been jarred when putting it back together or taking it apart somehow eliminating the shortI have worked on furnaces for over years and have seen many unusual and sporadic problems with the electronics in furnacesI can assure you that there was nothing done in anyway dishonestly with this situationThe technician is not paid on commission and gains nothing to try to sell something that is not needed, he still has the transformer that was removed and is burnt outThis needed to be replaced by someone as it was burnt outI am happy your furnace is working and I am sorry we were not the ones to get it workingIt would be nice to see a copy of what the other company didThank You, *** *** - Co-Owner

I am rejecting this response because: I am not an expert on furnace repairThe facts are as follows: The tech from TIME came to service my furnaceHe left for an hour and came back with a new transformer which I never sawHe put in the transformerHe told me the furnace was not going to work unless I spent 1000$ more to fix a control borad which was no quaranteeHe said if I bought a fiurnace from his company that I could put the 533$ I had already spent for a transformer which did not fix my furnace that he would finagle (sp) a way to make that workHe never mentioned replacing a fuse to me on this visit. I called for a sencond opinion and the tech fixed my furnace by changing a fuse.I have no more to say and can send youthe invoices if the company wants to compare them.Bottom line: the TIME tech charged me 533$ to put a supposed part in that did nothing to fix the furnace.The second tech fixed the furnace for 140$ by changing a fuse.I am not willing to pay 533$ for a repair which did nothing to fix my furnaceI am willing to pay for the service call 43$ and diagnostic 70$ even thought the diagnosis did nothing to fix my furnace.
