A To Z Allied Moving Reviews (11)

We hired this company to help us move our belongings from our house into a freight truck in front of our house. The two guys wanted to show up almost 4 hours early, but got upset when we told them the truck hadn't arrived yet. When they arrived at the specified time and the truck was there, they were just grabbing bags that we had explained were going into our vehicles for the move that had clothes, medications, etc. and putting them into the freight truck. When we found out about it, they refused to move boxes they'd put in front of them to get them out. We found out that several of our things were damaged, scratched, and before they left, one of the movers was caught trying to steal one of my husband's glass items when he was putting it into his truck. The other mover said that he himself was on parole and wasn't about to steal anything. However, when we unloaded at our new house, we found over $600 worth of tools stolen that had last been taken to the truck by the movers. During the last hour we paid them for, they were hanging around outside and not doing anything to help us move the beds or anything else. They finally decided to leave without moving a queen mattress, a crib, a recliner, coffee tables, etc. My husband called Justin, the owner, who told him that the movers complained of having to step all over things (those things being my children), and boxes being in the way, things all over the place, and how disorganized we were. My husband explained that there were many things that weren't even moved. Justin requested pictures sent to his phone and promised to get back to us. We sent them. He never did. Justin and his company are a joke and it is just another way to rip off unsuspecting people who need help in a time when their lives are chaotic. Way to go Justin. You're thug employees robbed us and left us to do what we paid you for. Well played.

Review: We hired A to Z Allied Movers to load our personal belongings into a u-haul truck on 8/14/13. They broke two very expensive pieces of furniture. Our desk is broken in two places and our desk chair has the arm broken in half. We have pictures of the damage and we are happy to provide them to you upon request. We contacted [redacted] at A to Z on 8/16. [redacted] requested that we call back on the following Monday because he was too busy and was going out of town. We emailed [redacted]ith pictures of the damage and as a follow up to our phone call on 8/16. We then contacted [redacted] again on 8/19 per his request. At that time [redacted] told us that he was going to have a furniture repair company contact us. We never heard from a repair company so we called again on 8/23. At this point [redacted] became rude and told us that he was working on it and it is really hard to find someone in [redacted] that repairs furniture. We still did not hear from a repair company so we called [redacted] again on 8/28. Again, he was unfriendly and said that he still hadn't found anyone in [redacted] We asked him to give us a date that he anticipated finding someone and he said Friday (8/30). We did not hear from anyone so we tried to follow up with him again today (9/4). We left a voicemail for [redacted]. We also called [redacted]'s partner, [redacted] was extremely rude and told us that he had no idea what we were talking about and that he could not help us that he was in the middle of something and we would have to deal with [redacted]. We explained that we have been trying to deal with [redacted] but nothing has been resolved. He again told us he can't help . We told him we were sorry for inconviencing him and he told us, the customer, not to be rude.Desired Settlement: A to Z needs to either replace our broken furniture with the same style /brand / quality as what we have or they need to repair, to our satisfaction, the furniture that they broke.

Response:

We were hired for a labor only job which you were going one way. Once the doors close on that truck and you 'ok' the load we leave all responsibility of the load upon you and who ever is driving it. Many people drive these rental truck erratically, and therefore that is why we tell customers on the initial phone call that once the back of the truck is closed it is your responsibility. Not only to we allow the customer to inspect the load, we are also willing to listen to their opinion since they are the ones driving the truck and responsible for its belongings. I have seen pictures of how the truck was loaded and it was not loaded improperly for what you were taking. Also, your husband had sent me pictures as well of a desk laying on a carpeted floor, there were other hands that touched this piece before the picture was taken. There are many other ways damage could have been caused to it. I was emailed a picture of a desk top sitting in the middle of a random floor. The drive up to [redacted] in a box truck which is loaded needs to be taken with ease and we see too many people driving that route in a box truck as is they were in a sports car, which is one of the many reasons we let customers know that they are liable for their own belongings once the back of that truck is closed after the load. If you have any further issues please contact me through this route rather than the harassing phone calls where you have been nothing but rude and pushy with us after we had let you know what was our stance on this situation.

Review: This company has moved us twice now. The first move was approximately 45 minutes from house to house, with 3 trips and they completely packed up the house. The approximate time was 9 hours and the price was around $1,000. excluding tip and I believe there were 3 movers.

On 2/22/14 the second move was 1 mile house to house, 3 men, we completely packed ourselves this time, approximately the same amount of stuff and the time was 9 hours. When I initially spoke with one of the owners (*) I mentioned wanting to keep costs down and he had estimated a cost around $600. to $ 800. He suggested 3 men would go a little faster as 1 would be in the truck while the other 2 moved the furniture.

I expected 3 experienced movers. 1 was recovering from an illness and had mentioned that he was not feeling as well as usual and it was the first day on the job with no prior moving experience for the third person. He was directed / instructed by the other 2 movers throughout the day. Understandably a new person will not be as fast and efficient as an experienced one and it also slows down the people teaching him.

Because of the above issues, the shore same team when time and pricing had been discussed prior to the move and charge for 3 people. When I was presented with and paid the invoice I asked to be contacted by one of the owners. I was told that I would hear from someone by the next day. I contacted the company on 2/25 when I did not receive a call. I spoke with(**), he said that he would look at the old invoice as I did not have mine to reference and call by the end of the day. He did not. I called the company again on 3/10 and spoke with (*), during our discussion I told him I could not hear what he was saying and he hung up on me. He would not answer the phone when I called him back .

This company is usually very professional, I was surprised and disappointed in the responses that I received to my voiced concerns.Desired Settlement: Explanation of moving charges on 2/12 compared to moving charges on 2/14 by someone who will calmly discuss my concerns and their without hanging up on me and respond in a timely fashion. Discount 2 hours.

I had a really great experience with this company. I felt they were truthful and honest, which is lacking these days. They helped me through my entire moving process, and I don't think I could have done it without them.

Review: First let me say this is not the first time that I have used A to Z Moving. We used them back in November of 2013 and had a very good experience. They were careful and quick. We even referred them to our Brother who used them and had an equally good experience.

However this time we used them on March 1, 2014 for a short move from Avondale to Buckeye. The two individuals (one we used previously) and the other appeared to be new and kept asking questions of the other. They loaded a 26 foot truck not once but twice and I felt that they moved much slower than the first move back in 2013. I realize we had rain to contend with but it just seemed slower. You might think with slower things should have gone better and less chance for damage not so. The two assembled our bed and placed the drawers back in the dresser without issue. When it came to hooking up the water line for the ice maker Justin the mover said that the connection hose was wrong and needed one end to be bigger, he also told us that the dryer cord needed to be changed out to a 5 prong so my husband went to [redacted] to get the correction items. He returned with nothing, as there is no such thing as a 5 hole electrical cord, my husband plugged in the cord and it worked fine. My husband also connected the waterline with no problems the line was the correct one. This was very hard for my husband as he has a degenertative disc disorder and can't really get down on his knees. The movers also removed one of the bi-fold doors for the laundry room and said these can be tricky and if you can't get it back up give me a call and I'll come out and put it back. We tried to replace the door and my son who is very handy tried with no avail. I called and left a message for Justin and no response. I also called and spoke to his boss who's name is also Justin and he said he would look into this. I didn't hear back so called again and then sent a text. In the meantime we found someone to come and put up the door. I worked all week and did not have the opportunity to really look closely at items until Saturday when I noticed a bunch of scratches on my Refer on the handles, a nick on the freezer door and handles on the frig and a bunch of scratches on the freezer door. (This is a freezer on the bottom of the refer). I also noticed scratches on the Dryer which are on the top. I have contacted the company and texted Justin the boss and he said well why didn't you tell me sooner. I explained that I worked all week and this was the first opportunity that I was able to assess any damage. He never replied about taking care of the problem.Desired Settlement: I would like my freezer door to be repaired or replaced as well as the damage to the handles on the refer. As far as the dryer I will live with the scratches. The bi-fold doors have been afixed to the door frame so nothing to do there.

I had first heard of A to Z through a friend so I called them for a quote. I researched their quote against almost all other moving companies in the Valley and there's was still the best. They did a fantastic job with my move, very friendly and professional and nothing was damaged. I have since moved 2 more times and I have used them both times. Both of the owners take a lot of pride in their company and the professionalism of their employees. Hopefully I won't be moving again anytime soon but if I do then I know I have a fantastic moving company to help me again!

Review: This company was hired to load a [redacted] truck with heavy furniture items that would be delivered to another location. The loading process was rapid and no attention to the condition of my items was properly executed, and as a result my furniture was really damaged because they were not properly padded with [redacted] blankets. I was told that the shrink wrap that I did myself would cause the furniture to adhere to itself and prevent damage. In addition the mover sent out only 1 experienced worker who was not able to load my heavy furnishings well because his partner was both inexperienced and lacked the physical strength to lift the furniture without stress and severe strain which resulted in improper placement of the pieces. When they arrived at the destination, professional movers hired to off lift the furnishings, noted the damage and pictures were taken. The pictures were sent to the owner of this company who for days did not respond to my request for refund and repair. When he did respond he claimed that his company was NOT liable once the door on the truck was closed and he threatened that if I gave him a bad evaluation, he would not do anything, because bad evaluations would cost him business. I have moved 19 times over the US and overseas and this experience by far is the worst experience I have ever had. I contacted customer service at [redacted] and initiated a customer complaint. I feel [redacted] movers more or less endorse these moving companies and provide customers with a false sense of security in terms of the companies and there reliability and skill. It was not until after the fact that I found out that [redacted] does not guarantee any sort of quality assurance for these independent contractors, and this company is the worst that I have dealt with in over 20 years of moving. My furniture is fine antique type furniture. I expressed my concerns to the owner prior to the job being started. He assured me his staff was skilled and could handle heavy items when in fact only one of his workers ([redacted]) was qualified. The other worker lacked the skill and physical stamina to lift the furniture or even utilize equipment such as a furniture dolly and lifting straps well. He did not know how to shrink wrap furniture pieces well and had to be prompted by [redacted] how to do it. I was distressed through the entire process but realized that it would be too late to do anything about it such as send them home. I requested that the 60 blankets that I purchased by [redacted] be used, and was told that it would take too much time, and I could do it later myself which was impossible after the truck was loaded. As stated previously I was told that the shrink wrap would prevent most of the damage, but it did not. Items that should have been placed securely to the front of the truck were placed in the rear and unnecessary room was taken up by my armoire piece which should have been able to be loaded with both pieces one on top of the other, but could not be placed that was because the weak worker could not help the experienced worker lift the piece. And again, the owner claimed that maybe one of his personal repair people at [redacted] could do the repairs or find someone in Colorado to help me. I personally contacted a [redacted] employee who stated that his office had NOT been contacted regarding my shipment for any sort of request for repair assistance. They did however provide me with the number to their cooperation in Colorado where I might find assistance. The owner further claimed that he did contact someone in Colorado and was waiting on a phone call back, however I know that this statement is untrue because I have spoken with repair persons from the [redacted] company in Colorado Springs and no such request for repair assistance has been made my the owner of A to Z Allied [redacted] LLC. At this point I want a refund from this company of the moving services fee that has been paid for the moving loading job, and reimbursement for any repair work that I am able to secure for the damage furnishings.Desired Settlement: Refund of the fees that were paid to this company for loading help through [redacted] Helpers. I also want reimbursement for any repair work that is done to the damaged furnishings. I have sent the owner pictures of all the items, and am willing to get a detail estimate identifying each piece and the cost of repair for each damaged item.

Response:

To Ms [redacted], During the initial phone call we informed you to get a minimum of 6 dozen pads. Also informed you that just shrink wrap would not be adequate in the protection of your furniture. When reps arrived to job the truck was already half loaded. There were also no pads to be found. When rep asked for pads you would not get them and you said the shrink wrap was good enough. The reps did the load exactly how you informed them to even after they voiced their concerns and advised you that your way was unsafe for your belongings. You refused to take their advice from their trained experience in this industry. You would not let reps tie down and secure the load, you had your daughter doing that because you were trying to rush the reps in and out of the job so you could save money. We always due our best to avoid damages, we are sorry to hear that some of your items were damaged. However, that was due to your own negligence and desire to cut corners in order to save

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

This business is lying I purchased 60 furniture pads from the [redacted] store which were available at my house for their use. His staff chose not use the pads and stated it was not necessary due to the extensive shrink wrapping that I had previously done prior to their arrival. The damages are their fault. I want a refund of what I paid and my furniture repaired at their expense. I have evidence and witnesses and will sue this company's in court if necessary.

Response:

To [redacted],

We would like to see this receipt showing that you PURCHASED $360-$400 worth of furniture pads. You were trying to pinch pennies and be cheap during your move. Rushing my guys through he job, and you specifically told the guys your daughter knew how to and would secure the load with tie downs. Now renting that amount of furniture pads sounds more reasonable. However, as stated in our previous response, there were no furniture pads to be found when the guys arrived there and when we instructed you on furniture pads you are the one who stated the shrink wrap was sufficient enough to protect your belongings. We advised you against that idea but you would not listen. Please provide receipt of furniture pads purchashed. Even with you claiming to have purchased them they were not there for use when our reps arrived.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

First of all the response is simply false. [redacted] has a record of all my truck rentals and the equipment that was rented along with the truck. I rented over 60 pads to be used with the move set up with [redacted] moving help. Let's assume that AZ Allied [redacted] is correct in their statements. Why would any professional mover allow a customer to request that they perform substandard professional practices and their employees would go along with it. No reputable mover would allow that. Sure I was trying to save money, but initially my request for AZ Allied [redacted] services was just to load the heaviest items. It was not until they arrived and started loading the furnishings on the truck that they convinced me that they could do the entire job in 2 hours and it would travel safely and the shrink wrapping was sufficient to protect the furniture. I had done all the shrink wrapping with the exception of two upholstered pieces and one large Amoire. These movers arrived at my home totally unprepared, no truck, very little equipment and I had to show them how to use the straps with the four wheel dolly. As stated before the one employee [redacted] was alert and prepared somewhat but his partner was new, and did not possess the physical stamina to even lift the furniture properly and he adamantly stated that the furniture was stacked and shrink wrapped sufficiently enough to endure the trip. They did not offer to tie down any portions of the truck. I had mentioned to them in the past that was something my daughter and I always did. They stated for the sake of time the tie downs were not necessary either. I do not have to lie about this situation. The owner of AZ Allied moving sent me an email stating he was planning to assist me in getting the furniture repaired. He claimed he had contact [redacted] to seek out someone in Colorado who would be able to repair the furnishings. These conversations between he and I occurred prior to my filing a formal complaint with both [redacted] Help and the Revdex.com. He warned me that if I did that he would not help me in any way because the negative complaint would severly and adversly affect his business. I have copies of all of my purchase and rental agreements with [redacted] and will be happy to supply the Revdex.com and [redacted] help with any copies they may need to document my statements. [redacted] keeps accurate records and I rented trucks and equipment on a monthly basis to transport my belongings to my new residence. It is obvious to me that this business is not reputable and has no intention of trying to repair my damaged goods. So my intent is to return to Phoenix and file a lawsuit in court against this company and in that way all evidence can be brought out and examined by a judge. I am not going to continue back and forth arguing with a company that lies and has no integrity. I can provide affadavits by the moving company up here whom I hired to off load my goods. They were horrified and so was I. I previously stated that I am retired military and have had more that 19 moves over the course of my career so in no way am I inexperienced when it comes to evaluating whether a moving job or if moving employees are experienced and know what they are doing. I take responsibility for not insisting that the pads be used. But they claim to be the professional movers. I am a nurse by profession and if an individual appeared in my ER with signs and symptoms of chest pain or difficulty speaking, under no circumstance would I allow that person to tell me how to go about assessing their health risk and specifically instituting appropriate health care. If they refused it would be documented. But as a nurse I would be liable if I did not do an adequate job of assessing their risks because they could be life threatening. I really this mover is mediorce, and I just picked the wrong one off the [redacted] mover list. Next time I will be more careful. But I am going to sue them AND every website that I can find to provide a review for their services will be notified of their terrible and dishonest customer service. I may have to repair my own furnishings but they are going to go to court over this matter.

Regards,

Review: We hired tA to Z Allied Moving to company to move only our large furniture from one apartment to another, in the same building, on the same floor. The two kids that showed up were rude and insulting. Of two movers, one of them disappeared halfway through the job, but we were still charged the full price. My large television was scratched during the move. I actually saw one of they guys drop an overstuffed leather chair in the parking lot.

I called the owner, [redacted], and he said he was too busy to talk. My boyfriend called and tried to talk to him. I called again and finally talked to [redacted], but he denied that any of this was true. He was not willing to listen to me, nor did he offer to pay for the damages. (He also didn't apologize for the crew being unprofessional, but that's not why I'm writing.)

In addition to the above damages, the crew was moving one tiny thing at a time and moving really slowly.... they charge by the hour, so I really feel like whole experience was a terrible rip-off. I was charged more than I should have been, and my furniture was damaged.

[redacted] cut our conversation short because he was at dinner and promised he would call me the next night at the same time. He didn't call, so I emailed him through the website. The move was over 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard back. It seemed like he was avoiding me the whole time.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded for 1 hour of the charges, and I need the screen on my tv repaired.

Business

Response:

As far as everything we discussed over the phone, you never mentioned anything about the tv being scratched and each time we had spoke it was a different story. We were hiredjust to move the larger items, however the guys ended up moving everything or you and you and your roommates gave no clear direction as to where everything was to be placed. As well, your so called boyfriend, had called me screaming and threatening me as well is misrepresenting himself as a Revdex.com Employee. I will gladly refund one hour of time. However that is all that I will do due to the fact of the threat and misrepresentation from your boyfriend and how your story changed every time we talked.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

After the move, I called three times to speak to the business owner regarding my concerns. After several failed attempts, my boyfriend called, thinking these men were avoiding me. I've never heard my boyfriend yell in over two years, as he's not the type to become escalated easily. The business owner was the one screaming and being very stand-offish. My boyfriend threatened to file a complaint with the Revdex.com, and he never misrepresented himself as an employee. I would like to hear a recording of that conversation to back up the ridiculous accusations. This accusation is also new to me- this was NOT mentioned on the phone when we spoke, certainly because it is a fabrication. When I finally did speak to the business owner a day or two later, he was rude, unsympathetic and unhelpful. I told him of the damaged furniture, and he said he "needed to talk to his guys to get their side of the story" and he promised to call the next day. I never heard back from him. He was unapologetic and refused to take responsibility for the damage his employees caused. We did initially hire the men for two hours to move larger items, however, after two hours, the beds were not assembled and the furniture was not in the right places. This is not because we failed to instruct them, it's because they were putting it all in one corner so it would be out of the way while moving other items. Since we were already more than 15 minutes into the next hour, we had them move some of the other boxes for the remainder of the hour. My story has not changed. I am outraged by the way my complaint was handled. I am disappointed that the finger is being pointed back at me. It is important that others seeking the services of a moving company know that this is one that should be avoided. I am still seeking a refund of $100 for the damages, and I would like my story to be posted.

Review: A to Z Allied Moving and its employees advertise themselves as a professional moving company. On or about January 16, 2013 I contracted with A to Z to move my furnishings and other personal belongings. During the transport, the legs of a coffee table were broken off. [redacted] of A to Z informed me that he would take the coffee table to a furniture repair facility to have the table fixed. [redacted] did not want to report the damaged table to his insurance company. I was notified shortly thereafter that the table could not be repaired. I inquired as to whether or not new legs could be fabricated. [redacted] stated he would find out if metal legs could be fabricated. I was then notified that metal legs were in fact being made for the table; however, months passed and I received no report as to the status of the coffee table. On April 20, 2013, I sent [redacted] a text message inquiring as to the status of the table. [redacted] responded "they were waiting on the person to build the leg system for it." [redacted] also texted that he was going by on "Thursday" to check on it. I received no word. On June 18, 2013, I sent another message to [redacted], again asking what was going on with the table. [redacted] responded, "We are waiting for the welder to finish the legs." Another month went by and on July 28, 2013, I sent another text to [redacted]. This time [redacted] did not respond. I then called [redacted] partner [redacted] told me I would have to deal with [redacted]. When I informed [redacted] I was not getting a response from [redacted] agreed to contact [redacted]. I waited a few days and heard nothing. I then called [redacted] who answered his phone. During the conversation, [redacted] became very agitated and stated he didn't know where the table was. He said he would find out. A week went by and on September 6, 2013, I sent [redacted] another message stating I would post a complaint if [redacted] did not respond by that day. [redacted] responded that he had seen the table the day before and that "it is almost finished." On October 7, 2013, a month later, I sent a text message to [redacted] asking where the table was and received no response. It has now been more than 10 months since [redacted] has been in possession of my table and allegedly having it repaired.Desired Settlement: I don't believe that [redacted] knows where my table is or that the table is being repaired. I am seeking the cost of the table which is irreplaceable and was purchased at a high-end furniture store by the name of [redacted] for the amount of $1,585.83.

Business

Response:

I am sorry that it has taken so long for the table repair. It is completed. If it had be up to me for the repair it would have been finished much quicker however I was waiting on my repair guys in Tempe to finish it for me. When I had told you I had seen the table and it was almost finished, to me belief that was the case however it took them longer than I was told to match the paint and stain work on the legs. Your table is now completed and repairs have been paid for. We will be ready to deliver it to you house as early as Tuesday morning. Please contact me as well at ###-###-#### to arrange delivery, I had tried contacting you by phone just before Thanksgiving and kept receiving an error message when ever I would try to call.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

I had planed a mover for over a month, I had all things set up with A to Z Allied Moving company this far in advanced, while setting this up [redacted] sent several text to confirm. The day before the move [redacted] called to confirm, I explained to him I would be getting the uhal truck the next morning at 8am. He said his movers would be there between 8-9 am. The day of the move at 8:20 [redacted] called. I explained to [redacted] I was getting the Uhal and there was an issue with the furniture pads from Uhal but they were getting them. He said they could not load with out them. I explained I understood and that in the mean time there were some additional things in the house to be done. Taking the beds apart, wrapping the tv's. [redacted] asked how long I would be, I said 15 injures. I left the Uhal place in a shorter time frame from that to go home and mom to bring the Uhal truck home. I arrived home no more than 15 minutes later to find no [redacted] or movers at the house. I assumed they had gone to get a drinks breakfast etc. [redacted] and his movers never came back to do the job they agreeded to do. I called [redacted] several times, left him a voice mail, I called and text [redacted] several times. This company these two men, just left me high and dry with no return call. They refused to answer my call, return them, or return a text. My review is that this company is terrible customer service, none in fact! I would never ever recommend them.

We used A to Z Allied Moving Company for our recent move. Since we live in Chicago, all details prior to moving were handled over the phone. We hired out for packing, providing a truck, loading, unloading and unpacking.

Service: EXCEPTIONAL

They did what they said they would do. Time schedules, arrivals, and coordination of services were handled exactly as agreed upon in advance.

Staff: EXCEPTIONAL

From the first call to the final meeting, each member of the staff provided superior service. The crew was friendly, professional and cared for my belongings carefully. They put together beds, bookcases, and TV connections ! They were always making sure that items were placed where I wanted them. Not one door jam, wall or baseboard was damaged.

Cost: FAIR AND REASONABLE

We had the movers for 3 days. One day to pack up and load the truck. The other 2 days to unload and unpack. We had items in two locations and they coordinated the loading and unloading from each location. Cost is one aspect of a move, but service and reliability are key to a successful move.

What I thought was going to be a very challenging situation, turned out to be much easier than I could have foreseen. When you have a good, honest company on your side, a move can actually be made easier and less stressful.
