A to Z Auto Shipping

Having been in the moving business for over 35 years, I found A to Z about a dozen years ago while looking for an alternate method of shipping a vehicle for a customer who couldn't afford to have a brand name van line transport it with their household goods. With their A+ Revdex.com rating and DOT references, I recommended A to Z on that occasion - and many others since then. I have NEVER had negative feedback on their service and many customers have thanked me for finding them the least expensive way of transport..

We did get a call re: the replacement of the windshield.
 
As we were trying to get to the bottom of it, we received this complaint...prior to getting all the facts and before we had the opportunity to respond to the customer with all the...

details.
 
The facts just don't add up....As per our contract, Carrier is not responsible for, "windshields that crack due to previous existing chips or extreme changes in weather conditions"....In addition, rock chip damage (which is usually the cause of a cracked windshield...although rare,) is not covered because it is not the fault of the Carrier or driver.
 
Yet, the customer claims that someone replaced his windshield.
 
After doing our research, The Carrier nor Driver had any knowledge of a window replacement.
 
In addition, we spoke to the customer who said that he took his vehicle to the Toyota Dealership and said that the window was installed properly and the quality was good.
 
I believe the customer....I also believe the driver.
 
Nothing was noted on the condition report on delivery...Windshield was replaced, although not the responsibility of the Carrier, and customer indicated that replacement window was done well.
 
So....vehicle was picked up and delivered on time, damage free.

Review: I contracted with A to Z Auto Shippers to transport my vehicle from Washington, DC to Seattle, WA. Upon receiving the vehicle we noticed the trunk was full of safety glass and the rear dash also contained voluminous amounts of safety glass as well. Upon closer inspection we noticed the rear window was replaced and didn't notify us. A later inspection revealed the installation was poor and the quality of the glass is sub-standard for my vehicle.Desired Settlement: I would like A to Z (or their sub contractor, Daisy Auto Carrier) to pay for a full Toyota factory installation of the rear windshield.
